it's a long ways between pee stops out here. TOO long, sometimes. this portable outhouse was a most welcome site for Denise, who had been doing the potty dance for the last 45 miles. too bad i can't show you the next shot in this series... (Message edited by jerry_haughton on April 25, 2005) |

we took up a collection at the first Oktoberfast, which took place the weekend following the Torque Fest in 2003, and sent Daryl's mom, Mrs. Shirley Levesque, a check for a little over $300, signed "From the Participants of Oktoberfast." several weeks later we received a very nice "Thank You" card from Mrs. Levesque, along with several other printed items in memory of her son. her handwritten note read, in part, "I wish to thank all of you dearly for your generous donation in memory of my son, Daryl C. Levesque." for SpringFast i made copies of her card and note and other items, and in the pix above Bart and Carey are zip-tying the bundle to Daryl's memorial marker. it seemed to me a small way to help strengthen the connection between a mother and her fallen son. the rider above is Daryl, obviously doing a track day. the inscription under the photo reads, "The road in Heaven is paved in pure gold and goes on forever and ever." he may be gone, but he is not forgotten. ride in peace, Daryl Charles Levesque. Very good YamamotoSan, as usual, you have a way with words. The feeling at the memorial was somber, as some of us were present the day of the accident, and ALL of us felt sad for a mother that lost her son, and for a man that had a true passion for riding, and was enjoying life to it's fullest when he was removed from our world. Amen brother Rest in Peace |

Upon ariving in Show Low, Al and Wycked discuss motorcycles in general in one of the rooms while starting on the beer.

I need to comment here, that we did have a most excellent meal across the street, but I was so intent on eating, I didn't get any pictures. We DID however, have a $400.00+ tab to pay. I'm sure that YamamotoSan did take pics, and will post at a later date, after he wakes up and drinks some coffee. I do however have more pics of some of our stops along the second days ride. (kinda hard to take pics while carving curves, and I DO mean curves!) |

Jeremy's bike started cutting out under power before we hit Springerville, and he had to make use of the chase truck. What a shame, poor fellow had to ride with Wycked the rest of the day, and watch the others have fun on the curves. Al admires Carey's S2. |
