My friend Gordon had his stator and voltage regulator go out just as we got to Show low on friday so his Ultra went back to phoenix on saturday by flatbed. Saturday just as I had about 20 miles togo to get to Showlow I had a very nice chat with a guy that had extra lights on his roof. Yes the ones that are red and blue. Well he thought I was traveling a little toooooo fast. Anyway after some more chatting he said Hey is this a Buell? I just saw a TV special on these. So I felt obligated to fill him in on the fuel location, oil tank and yes look over here at this cool front brake thing. Well thanks Erik for the great bike cause it saved me a lot of money. It seems that after my little encounter the fast guyes were next to come down the same road about a minute later. I heard tell he lit up his lights again but did not turn around (must have noticed they were on Buells) then not a few minutes later Mr Yamamotosan's group got their chance for the same light show. But as Court would say remind me to tell you some time. Sundays ride for Tito (HD) Gordon (Rental car) and me was back by way of Payson. We did not have the weather gods in our favor. We got rain, sleet, hale, dence fog and a bunch of wind. Lets hear it for Bad Weather Bikers. Need to thank all those that put out so much effort to make this ride a wonderful SAFE sucess Have a Great Day. |

Dave, Thanks for the pics. Bart, thanks for the ride. I have to say that I haven't ridden so far, so fast in my long life! I just wish the old mill wasn't pushing 51k or I would have tried a little harder to keep up. I guess that is a testament to the durability of these machines. I hit over 100 quite a few times, once at least 115 and was above 80 for...how many 100's of miles? Bart, we didn't pick up the trinkets that you had for us, so I guess we'll have to come back and pick them up some time. |

another break at Christopher Creek, between Payson and Show Low, AZ. Here I fall in lust with one of the Iowa riders bike. A beautiful Kawasaki. Who said this was a Buell only ride? There were certainly some SWEET bikes present for this ride!

Unibear shows off his S3, which proves it's Harley heritage, by marking it's spot wherever he parks it. (Little did we know, this man would prove to be the hardest partier, and the longest distance rider, with a hangover no less! Glen, you truly are THE MAN!) Just curious, Did anyone happen to notice how well the roadside memorial marker was physically holding up to the weather conditions? I haven't been up there since I put it in the ground. Also, were the small Buell bits and pieces (foot peg etc.) still on top of the guard rail post where I left them? -SD: |

Ok, that's all for now, I need some sleep. I had a great time with everyone. It was great to meet new folks, and see some old friends. Can everyone email me hi-res copies of their pictures so can I can put it all together on a CD? More tomorrow, after I get some rest. |

this past weekend was the annual Laughlin River Run. saw hundreds of Hogs headed that direction. took this shot partly to illustrate the migration, partly to illustrate the lay of the land in the desert Southwest. (Message edited by jerry_haughton on April 25, 2005) |
