One of the best places I have found for buying tires is Cycle Sports Of Salem, they give like 35-40% discount on tires. I don't know how this would work out for you being as you are in canada, but they rock on prices, just don't take a Bike there with PM wheels and try to have them balance them. The PM wheels are to wide for a lot of the streetbike shops wheel balancers. |

Would you be taking the whole bike in, or take the wheels off yourself and take them in? |

I would like to take them off myself and take them in,but at this point I don't have a center stand so I may have to take the whole bike in. |

The trick is not a centre stand but to hang it from the rafters. I could lend you rachetting straps, or rafters for that matter. I'm on holidays this week. But with removal from the bike, you may find that most shops won't work on a Buell and Deeley's may be your best bet. They charge shop rates for the work, while I find that if you take in only wheels to most shops, it gets done at far less cost. |

Buellbob, You don't want to take them to Deeley's (Especially if you have PM wheels). Don has never had success there as they always seem to scratch something. He puts the bike on center stand and just takes the wheel in. Burnaby Kawi was recommended, a friend takes his there without problem and they are reasonably priced. |

Anyone going to the antique bike show at Twawassen today? OK. I'll stop being coy. International Tire Consultants (ITC) in Langley has the best price for tires that I've found. They recommend a service station nearby that's run by a road racer. Or, Richmond Motorsports. |

hanging the bike from the rafters is also an option. I have the stuff and the rafters to do it from. It just seemed like a real unprofessional way of doing this but what ever works I guess. I am not happy with what happened at Deeleys in regard to Buell so I would not go there anyway. ITC is the place to go for sure. Went to high school with one of the owners. I've already talked to them. I've dealt with Burnaby Kawasaki before and they seemed okay. This year I'm going to take a real good look at the underside of my bike and see if I can't come up with some way of fabricating and mounting a permanent spring loaded center stand. Thank you all for the info. |

I'm also disappointed at the demise of Deeley's stand-alone Buell shop. The atmosphere has definitely changed, that you can't drop in and just shoot the breeze. I keep trying anyway but they're all too busy working, which, I guess, is what employers want out of their staff. From a business perspective, I understand the reason for the changes. And I'm still grateful for all the help I've received over the years there so I will give them my business whenever I can't do-it-myself. In the matter of hanging from the rafters, that is the only way to get the front of my S2 off the ground since it doesn't have a hole in the fork-stem to fit a jack. |

Welcome Paul, We will most certainly be doing some outstanding roads this season. As always SPLASH will be outstanding in July and Border Raid will end up in your neck of the woods. There is much more info on the Badweb about those 2 rides in particular. You may also want to check Northwest Rides in Storm Fronts to keep up on things. Harv |

Hi guys I have been reading the forum for a while and finally decide to join, even if I dont own a buell yet :-(.Short story about me, I got the Buell bug when I went to a demo ride in 2000 and tried a X1 with race kit since then I cant wait to get on a buell. I use to ride rice rockets (yzf and gsxr 750). Sorry for my english but it's not my first language but I do my best, thx. I am now looking for a XB and I know Deeley is getting rid of there 2004 the 9s at 10900$ and 12s at 11900$, does anyone know if those are good deal or I can get it at lower price? at Deeley or somewhere else. I am on the Island and I'm pretty sure Drane will not beat this price. Oh and I will put a race kit on for sure I love the sound of it too much. |

Roll call for SPLASH! Funjimmy and I are expecting to leave Friday morning for the twisty route down there, but making good enough time to arrive for dinner. Harve and Stu are both out, sadly. Harve has a good reason. Brent and Cindy are bikeless. Warped priorities! Don and Lorraine, I assume we'll have your company? |

Fun Jimmy, Per Sportyerics statement above I am guessing that you will not be doing the track day in Portland right before SPLASH, there fore not coming down earlier in the week? Lo and Don you are going to make it down right? Stu what's up? John, are you and others coming down? Can't wait to see everyone! Harv you will be missed! Loni |

Hi Loni You guessed right. I'm torn about it too. Earlier in May I tucked the fromt of the RC51 while doing a trackday at Spokane. Damage to my bike exceeded 5K. I really want to do the track day at Portland in July but don't want to risk loosing the SPLASH ride for it. Feeling better about riding down on Friday and pulling the usual SPLASH routine. Sorry I didn't advise you sooner. FunJimmy |

Don & I are coming down Thursday, as usual we'll be staying with Buellnuts... if that's still their plan (?) So we won't be riding down on Friday with you guys... we'll already be there keeping the brews cold for you guys. Loni, I didn't know anything about track day. What's that all about? |

I will cover any and all smokable needs, so no one hurt yourselves. Also, anyone who wants to come and stay at our house is more then welcome. We have a spare bedroom complete with bed. FunJimmy, tucked the front end huh?, ouch... Tonight we start dropping the old motor out of the bike, it is about half way already. |

Well I have good news and bad news. First the bad news - today was my first ride on my bike this year. The good news is obvious - I rode my bike today! The bike drags are on this weekend in Mission. The Top Fuel Harleys never disappoint and lots of wild toys make an appearance. Who's in? I'm probably going Saturday. Harv |

BIB, is it true, the sad story blowing down on the North Wind...no Harv for SPLASH? What twisted mind has imagined this into our world. But, is it true! I sit, I wait for understanding. When will it come... sniff, Galen |

My folks are having their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday the 16th and I have 2 brothers visiting from New Brunswick (East Coast). The only positive is that one of the bros is going to rent a harley and we will at least be able to ride to Comox on Vancouver Island. I will miss seeing all you guys and girls. Please think of me when you are leaning into those outstanding switchbacks after lunch on Saturday. Harv |

Well that's a lot of good and bad news. Glad you finally got to ride Harv. SUCKS BIG TIME that you won't be at SPLASH. You will be greatly missed, so we will hoist a few and lean hard in your honor. Enjoy the Island, at least you'll have some of your own 2-wheeled adventures! Bob or... umm... is it Bo now? Looking forward to seeing you. I'll call a couple days before coming down. I'm heading up north to the cabin this Saturday. I'll be back just in time to go riding, woo hoo! Oh and thanks to our wonderful South-of-the-Border friends... you know that old saying; A friend... in deed! Ride on, Lo |
