...you don't know and not have a 20 minute conversation? Everytime I've ever met a Buell rider at a gas station or rest stop, it seems like we always share more than just a hello. There always has to be a story about a ride, or a dealer, or a repair, or a modification. Seems like the last couple of times it's happened, one of us wound up getting dragged away by the elbow by the friends that were with us. I never see this happen with other brands. |

Wow! You meet other Buell riders? I'm still waiting for that to happen. I have run into them at the dealership (and we did have a 20 minute conversation) but never "out in the wild." |

That does happen to me, there are a lot of cool people out there on Buells that have done cool mods and everything and dont come here. I spread the word as much as possible... |

I saw one at a persons house and they were outside so I stopped off and chatted for a good 20 minutes or more. Or I meet them at bike nights and chat up a bit. Gotta say that the XB9SX seems to be a heck of a conversation starter. |

If I had a Buell I could assure you that I would talk to you for hours about it. I want one so bad! |

It happens to me, but most of the time I find myself yelling and flailing my hands wildly trying to get their attention as they go by in a blur with they bad selves... |

Yes, and I quote..."its my friends, he loaned it to me cause my BigTwin is in the shop...how do you guys stand these things?" I shook my head and left. If after riding it (he was ahead of me for about 10 mins) he just didn't understand...he never would. |

While we have a Buell dealership locally, I have never seen any Buell in the Richmond, VA area ever. They have a fair selection at the local dealership and it's a sizeable dealership as well so I'm kind of surprised. I do know there is a BRAG chapter in Virginia somewhere though. |

Amazingly, I pulled into my small town bicycle shop this afternoon to get a new wheel for my son's scooter, and when I came back out, one of their techs was looking at my 9sx and asked how I like my CityCross. Stunned that somebody even knew the brand, much less the exact model, we got to talking. His wife bought a 03 9sl, and he liked it so much he bought a 12S. They keep his Ducatti and his Guzzi company. Must be nice! Anyway, go figure. Good to know there is another Buell running around town (and to be honest, I look forward to seeing his other bikes as well). (Message edited by reepicheep on January 08, 2005) |

Turned into my street one day and there was a black S1 coming the other way towards me. I stopped my truck in the middle of the street and stopped to talk to him (once I could tell it wasn't my own on its way out of town). Turns out it was a 96 just like the one I have in my garage two houses from where I stopped him. We had a good conversation, I think many Buellers tend to be like minded. |

Consistent with some of the previous posts, I've never come across a Buell rider and we're both stopped/parked somewhere. Can count on one hand the number I've passed the past three years since buying my M2. Actually, I kinda like this "exclusivity". |

WEIRD! Are they more abundant out West??? I see many Buells in Phoenix and the San Diego area? You know what else; a lot of Military ride Buells. Agree with the like minded people comment.Have yet to meet a Bueller who didn't like beer! |

Raced this yellow M2 once, he didn't know I was a fellow Bueller since I was in the wife's Taurus. He won. Now that I think about it I think I met the guy at the one BRAG ride I went on, never made the connection before though... |

The two times I've seen others on the road (that are not in the BRAG club), we were heading in opposite directions. Funny thing was, each time we both did u-turns to catch up to the other one and passed each other again - then finally met. In the Hudson Valley I can count how many Buells I've seen using my fingers and toes (making that 22 - what?) |

I was dissappointed that on my trip to visit Newfie last summer that we didn't run into any Buellers (except the ones on the trip). Then in Sept. when I went to Phoenix I saw quite a few. One guy on an XB9r came up next to me at a stoplight and said that he was just coming back from Bonneville. We rode together on the freeway until he cut off to go north. During the week I saw a lot of Blasts and a couple other of the larger ones. Piet - that picture of yours sure looks like the smiley face that was done outside of the Waterloo Iowa Buell/HD dealer. |

... we were heading in opposite directions. When you pass another bike, how do you know if it's a Buell? The closing speed is too fast for me to read anything. I usually try and look at the exhaust after the bike has passed me, but even that doesn't work too well. |

When you pass another bike, how do you know if it's a Buell? I may not be always correct knowing what Japanese bike zips by me, but I can always tell a Buell - never been wrong with Buells yet. (Message edited by gomo on January 09, 2005) |

Jim, Hopefully I'll be able to bring one over to RTP and we can ride a bit soon. Right now I'm smothered with the New Year turn-ups and new contracts. If you know any CISSP/Cisco/Checkpoint/IDS people looking send them. As of Friday we needed to fill 7 seats -- 29 interviews zero hires. Greg |

I see "UBP"s (Unknown Buelling Persons) periodically, and always try to say "hello", if feasible. Here's my method for helping them get in touch with other Buellisti, if they want to: This also works great if you run across an unfamiliar bike in a parking lot or at a bike night. If there is no owner around to talk with, simply leave one on the bike and they'll check it out if interested. I had these business cards made by Vistaprint for free! www.vistaprint.com For my next batch, I'm definitely gonna include the Badweb address as well, so don't kill me, Blake!
