Steve....feel like parting with a spare set of wheels? I'm looking for some rims for track days (actually, just a front wheel but....) BTW....any luck find a picture of the sliders? BTW 2.....you suck If I had the wife opps, the means those very well could have had a home in my garage. |

Lake, I've got a wife that's a "stay at home" mom. And she's all for all these Buells Hell, she wants me to do the "600CC" Nallin kit on her Blast this winter We're gonna take a pic of us, and the 6 Buells, and send it off the Fuell magazine. Think we'll make it in there? Oh, I KNOW what the sliders look like. It just gonna be tough finding a place to mount one on the right side, if you're using the stock airbox. Take a look at the right side of the S3s and see if you can see ANY of the frame that's even close to the tank... I will figure something out. And I think I've even got a big pile of aluminum that I can earmark for the project (Message edited by steve_mackay on November 17, 2004) |

I got a very stern warning before I headed over there last night that I better not come home if I bought them. He mentioned the same to me as well related to the parting out. Actually, he wasn't too concerned about the X1, but really hoped the S1 would get put to good use. |

Frame sliders on right side. Note...for pre-'99 bikes, the bobbin will need to be tall enough to clear the exhaust. Not an issue on later bikes because the headers run inside the frame. |

Lake, THANKS for the pic. I liked the polished pipe. Is that your bike? We, umm, picked up a '98 race pipe and muffler DIRT cheap last weeek($150 for pipe+muffler.) from a guy who was parting out an M2 on ebay. He didn't have the pipe and muffler listed, but I noticed it in one of his pictures. So, I'm gonna polish that one up over the winter to put on my bike |

CJ, you should come with us on a track day... NESBA has a deal for beginners. You get a 15-20 minute track time, and instruction for FREE. http://www.nesba.com/info/intro.aspx They are at Road America and Blackhawk quite often during the Spring/Summer months. |

Nope...not one of mine. I "borrowed" the picture from a sponsor's site. I have "ceramichrome" coating on my S3T. Looking to do the same to the S1W this winter. The polishing requires too much upkeep. I'd rather be riding than polishing |

Lake, Who did your Ceramic coating? I've got some polishing to do(the lower fork legs, front and rear calipers, triple trees). I've got a chrome primary, and derby cover I got for $60. Just gotta get a chrome cam cover. Should all look pretty sharp with the Polished PM wheels. Still contemplating painting the bike this winter, "Mr Yuk" green

Dana...spill the beans! I don't want to use Classic Coatings. I have a local guy that has done some in the past but he's not hip on the idea of doing more. |

EPPERS POLISHING CO. 1760 State Street Racine WI.53404 262-634-6464 Now I haven't had any work done by him but he's a nice guy and is very reasonable.Ihad some quotes from him to do some stuff for me on my last bike but I opted to chrome instead.I've seen his work and its gorgous.Lots of bikers here in town use him.He does have some strange hours so you might have to call more then once. |

No "problems". They were just twice the cost of the local guy for some powdercoating last year. I'd also prefer to keep my business local (stadium tax and all that jazz). |

Lake, I think it was you that mentioned doing a clear powdercoat on your PM rims. Did you ever get that done? |

Lake, So am I. My Boss asked me Monday, when I'm gonna put the "snow tires" on the S3 That same day, a customer of ours asked one of the owners if my Bike was a Ducati. When he replied that it was a Buell, the customer replied "You must be paying your employees too much". If only he knew how little $$ we have in our "fleet" It's up to about $17K for 6 Buells now I was just curious of how the PMs will look after the clear powdercoat. I'd like to get that done to mine too at some point in time, but worried they may not "shine" as much as they do now after an afternoon of polishing. And about the spare wheels. I doubt my brother wants to part with spares, but I watch A LOT of ebay auctions, and I'll keep ya informed if ya want. |

Steve...Build a bigger shed. Preferably large enough to handle your families bikes and my two. Will pay for storage! LOL PS: Bomber lies. I already tried to corner him into keeping my X1 for the winter so we could work on it and I was going to both deliver it and leave the keys. Wow, you should have heard the excuses he came up with. |

Gosh Bomber...You are just so sensitive. LOL Actually, your reasons were quite real and expected in a family environment. Not to mention they mirrored my reasons for getting the bike(s) out of my garage for the winter. LMAO Hmmm...wonder how big a storage unit Steve can build on his property. May be worth investigating and starting an investment syndicate or limited partnership for. |
