Soooo... I'm crusin' down the road today (temps in high 40s) to drop the bike off for winter storage and upgrades, and I'm stuck in mall traffic the whole way. I finally get around to the back way, and I just know the tires aren't warmed up yet, with a really sharp right turn coming up - like 120 degrees. Set up, lean over, get most of the way around, on the gas a little, and hmmm, oh hey is that sound my back tire spinning up? well yeah, it is. Dirt track it a little, on the gas some more, up the road I go. No harm, no foul. I love how predictably the S2 behaves - I've never been surprised - even when it stepped out on me today, it did it in a controlled manner - never felt like it was going to be one of those "Next thing I knew I was on the pavement" moments. Nothing sudden to make you pucker. Now my wife was a little freaked out when she came to pick me up So you folks that are still riding in this weather, getcher tires warm first. just a friendly PSA since we've been discussing tire safety lately. |
