Eric's started something... (as if that needs to be said) BMW goes naked, adds a transparent flyscreen too. http://www.motorcycledaily.com/18september04_bmw_k1200r.htm

Umm, Erik didnt invent the idea of "naked" bikes. Look at an HD, Cruiser bike, standard bike from the 80's, etc & they are all "naked". Before the race reps came out in the mid 80's all bikes were naked. |

I didn't mean "that", I was trying to make a wink and a nod to the flyscreen. |

long, certainly, likely stable as well, but the Chermans have learned how to make their scoots corner fairly respectably . . . I'm guessing it won't corner as aggresssively as an XB series Buell . . I don't see this scoot as competition for Buell's market, and would guess the Buell won't expend much energy trying to compete with it. For those that pine away for the glory days of Bonnivilles and Thruxtons and 500cc Guzzis, I'm tellin ya, these are the good old days -- the bike market is awash in interesting, well designed, good working scoots! it's hard to buy a bad bike these days I think the biggest challenge for a prospective bike buyer is finding the right one to suit your needs/desires we are truely blessed |

Whoa, that Beemer is a friggin' mess... its so chopped up visually, I can't figure out what they were trying to say. Germans should NEVER attempt to do industrial design on their own, not without an Italian or two to guide them. Otherwise they go off in some post-modern butt-ugly direction, and that bike is the result. Not to deny it may be a great ride, but jeez, it is fugly... |

IMO that Beemer is tight, if it was made in the U.S. it'd probably be on my wish list. Looks like their new 1200 engine... high mount pipe and unbolt those clunky passenger pegs and it'll look much cleaner. I have to agree with Bomber on the current state of (the art of) motorcycling. There's something for everyone out there and all of it's pretty impressive. |
