Appreciate it. Drove past LuLu's last night, was down checking out the bicycle race course for tomorrow. A bunch of bikes were there. Didn't stop though. http://www.internationalcycling.com/venue/humboldt.shtml |

Does anybody know if Hal's stocks any Sportster based chopper-style frames? Not ready to go there yet, just curious at this point. Thanks.

Mike...Which race are you in and is their onstreet parking near the event so I can both watch you sweat and "The Tractor" at the same time? "The Tractor" is the name I gave my Wide Glide. Fortunately, it only sounds like one. |

Bill, I was in the first one for the day. Started, died early, got out of the way after that and watched everyone else finish. Good for the experience though. There is usually nearby parking for bikes and such. I'm debating the Kenosha race. But knowing that Greg will have a camera ready I may save the web from seeing me posted in cycling gear. Still without a WileyCo replacement muffler. Seems to have been some sort of issue with their shipping department or order taker or something. This is turning into my lowest bike mileage year ever. |

Caution: taking four days off can lead to a bloody tongue. I've been biting mine all morning catching up on the reading. Maybe I need another four. Looks like I'll be looking at older bikes from now on. Oh well, life goes on as subscriptions expire.

Mike...Sorry I missed your racing debut. Perhaps Kenosha. Don't forget to post time and location. Older bikes??? You are getting to be as cynical as I am. Seems like everything I want has to do with a "retro" look. Oh well, at least the X1 and the Wide Glide fall into that category. |

More like a debacle than a debut. I'll be as prompt as I was on posting this one, four days later. Trust me, you don't want to see me in cycling shorts. But if you and your's want to go watch some good racing head down to either the Saturday or Sunday pro/1/2 races this weekend. http://www.internationalcycling.com/schedule.shtml Lately I'm thinking the M2 and S2 are both too new, and an insurance company calling the S2 a "sportbike" sort of added fuel to the retro-esque flame. The BMW "S" series is now out of consideration. Question: if I use a biodegradable lubricant in a total-loss system can it be called polluting?

Mike...Thanks for the info. Unless you split the rear seam out of your shorts, I don't see where there would be a problem. LOL Suggest you check with Ralph Nader concerning your lube question. Of the top of my head, I would think it would only be polluting if somebody slipped in it. |

I guess that rules out the banana oil then. |

Question: if I use a biodegradable lubricant in a total-loss system can it be called polluting? Absolutely. Whether it will be considered such or not I don't know but... The EPA went after a company and made it clean up a massive spill once when a tank holding milk ruptured. Also remember that one of the biggest sources of pollution is also biodegradable, fertilizer. It's a question of how that agent effects the environment as it bio-degrades.

Any updates on the Wildcat Mtn. ride or is that just privileged information for the secret society? |
