sorry to invade this thread, I am planning on going to the sportbikewest thing and got to thinking about the border. Will I have any problems with 'noise'. my bike is a bit on the loud side and I didn't know how picky they would be, or if they would even care.. anything else I should know?

Misato, Sport Bike West can be lots of fun. My suggestion would be to gather the route maps, speak with people on what would suit you best, scenery or fun roads, and ride only with the people your with.
Don't worry about the border, I'm sure the border guards have heard loud bikes. I'll turn my bike off as I approach, remove my sunglasses or flip up my visor and look them straight in the eye. Us Canadians are relaxed, I'd be more worried about the US guards.
Let me know if you need a service or anything before heading up, it would be our pleasure to make sure your bikes ticky-boo for SBW.

Cheers, Stuart Wells, manager of Deeley's House of Buell.

thanks. yeah, I wanted to stop by deeley's to check it out. not sure where everthing is yet, I haven't looked. isn't a brag thing stopping by there sometime that week/end?
my g/f might go and she doesn't ride so I thought I could throw the bike in the truck for the border if needed. I thought you might have some freaky noise law and the guy would say 'denied', then you'd see a low speed buell chase on tv.

Yo, Canadian brethern (and cistern), speak up and let Kimberlee know if you are interested in Buell Tee Shirt Quilt raffle tickets. I'd hate to see them sold out before y'all had a chance on them. You can pay at SPLASH. And we'll send you the quilt if you win. A gift, as it were, from your cousins down in the States. They are going fast, probably faster than you. Except for SportyEric, of course, he can't help but be fast on his new baby.
Lo, cmon and give, honey. What's your new ride? We want sexy photo's, tank top and short shorts posed on the new ride.

Great Lorraine! She is a beauty. Those short-shorts show off every curve. Lovely tanktop too. She really fills it out. Platinum blondes have more fun.

Cheers, Stuart.

PS I hope to see you Thursday night @ 7:00 at the fort pub. June 24th

Well Canadian Buellists,
Let's start talking about when we are going to blaze down the I5 for SPLASH. When, where etc.

Jimmy,
Howz the kitchen lookin'? Need some help?
The problem with my throttle sticking last time out was the Throttle Shaft broke at one of the screw holes. Thanks to our buddy Stu at Deeley's (the Buell friendliest place on earth), I'm good to go 'cept for the idle cable being frayed and needing replacing. I'm still hoping to get my hands on some of those new Michelin Pilot Power tires. Bring on that sticky stuff!

Counting the days 'til we can hang with our US buds.
Harv

Harv,

I gave your name & #, as well as Jim's to my brother Craig; he and our friend Jimmy have confirmed their first-time-ever participation in SPLASH.

I hope that the plan is not to take the I5 all the way down to Woodland, as that would be a butt numbing thing to do! I would suggest that you find hwy 9 to take you around Seattle to the East or even hwy 20 then 101 to go around on the West (if you get an early start and only take short breaks).

I hope everyone has a very enjoyable and safe ride.

Harv, I only have one thing to say....
I hope you all will be here in time to enjoy the BBQ, and the Quilt drawing! What time are you planning to launch from Deeleys Friday? Last year we missed you all. Well back to work, can't wait to see you in 9 days.

Hey John,
Good to hear from you. Last year we left Langley at 9:00AM and took Highway 9 with one stop for lunch and a little roadside maintenance and arrived in Woodland at 10:00 PM. That really sucked as we also caught heavy traffic in a few places. That's why we thought if we blast down for a good portion, we can leave the freeway for more interesting roads when we get closer and still get there in time to catch the BBQ.

Loni,
We'll probably meet earlier this time - 6:00AM (if we can scare Eric out of bed - just kidding) and grab breakfast after making a little time. We should probably meet somewhere closer to the Truck Crossing at 176th. Anyone have any other suggestions?

So as I understand, so far there are 6 Canadian riders leaving for SPLASH on Friday July 16, is that right? Plus 4 others who are going down a day earlier.

All Canadians going to SPLASH. Let's hear from you.
Jimmy, Eric and I (and possibly Shane) will be heading down early Friday AM. Since I haven't heard from anyone, I will suggest the Starbucks on Highway 10 in Cloverdale right across from McDonalds. Is 6:00 AM going to work? I will appologize to all the neighbors of us Buell owners in advance.
Johnboy,
I haven't hear from Craig or Jimmy. Are they still coming?
Lo and Don,
You're going down prior to Friday AM, right?
I am soooo ready for this.
Harv
