What's the proper method for checking oil level. I seem to remember something not quite as the manual states to keep the oil IN the engine. Thanks. |

Get engine hot. After engine is shut down, check oil level stick. Should be about 1/2 way up the stick. If checking cold, oil level should just be touching the bottom of the oil level stick. Going from memory here...![](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/clipart/beer.gif) |

...and the S2 tends to self-regulate. Check it a few times, to learn what IT thinks is the correct level, then just go with it. Too much, it'll puke it out or burn it; too little and you'll hear lifter tap. Fill to spec, let it consume it to where it wants it...and go with that. |

I've got it about halfway between the 2 marks when hot, seems to work so far. |
