I did the Shindengen conversion (FH020AA) on my 06 Uly a few years ago, with a kit from roadstercycle.com. If search is working, I did a lengthy writeup here on badweb when I did it. The regulator itself is VERY accessible (OEM on many metric bikes); it's a MOSFET design; and through use on my Uly I can tell you it is ROCK-SOLID for regulating power regardless of RPM and accessory loading. The roadstercycle kit included a premade wiring harness; all I had to do was make an adaptor plate out of some flat aluminum I had, and it's been there like I said, for years without a hiccup.
