I was watching SRK Cycles latest YouTube video about a Pennsylvania motorcycle tech school going out of business and buying at the auction. They walk in the front door at 1:25 and there is a BOC S1. Looks to be a display piece. Maybe owned by the school owner? They also had 10 or so teaching evo motors that went for about $700/ea. https://youtu.be/CYXK4_AJhsw (Message edited by Williamscottrobertson on November 25, 2018) |

That auction was just right up the road from me. I was going to guess maybe Randy Texter's old bike but it has Erik Buell's name on the number plate. I think a guy at work said it went for 9 grand. |

That’s market IMO. Most of what he mentioned in the video was going close to retail. |

The #63 bike is sleeping soundly in it's new home . . . . That entire Battle of Champions event was a barrel of fun . . . I still have a bunch of those long sleeve shirts somewhere and all the Snap-On stuff the Harley folks told me to "get rid of" . . I did. :-) |

I don't know where $9K came from. An auction site shows the hammer price of $4500+15%. A bargain to me. DAve |

That would be a bargain at 4500! |

That auction was about 15mins up the road from me. I thought about bidding on a few things, but have too many irons in the fire with other projects right now. They had a lot of nice stuff up for sale.....a bunch of little TTR's, couple Snap-on motorcycle lifts, and nice tool boxes. Glad to hear the S1 found a proper home. I was going to post it up here when I found out about the auction, but didn't want to jinx anyone that was planning on bidding. |

An auction site shows the hammer price of $4500+15%. That is an accurate statement. I was going to post it up here when I found out about the auction, but didn't want to jinx anyone that was planning on bidding. Honestly, I was amazed how little it was publicized. That's probably a big reason why it remained such a bargain! |

I am happy to stand corrected on the price on the S1, I heard it from a fellow at work so guess he was mistaken. |

Did it already have that swingarm at the event mentioned in the article? |

NO, look at the first set of pics, with them all lined up at the starting line. You can see the old style swingarm on all the bikes. |

Did it already have that swingarm at the event mentioned in the article? Didn't have the chin fairing at the event either. Maybe I should post the pic I took with the bike in the background 20+ years ago at the event (once I get home tonight...)? |

Not home yet, but in a safe space with a good caretaker. |

Looking at it now however, yes it's more narrow. Didn't have the chin fairing at the event either. Yeah, it's fine on the X1, but I never felt that it made the S1 look any better. |

Here's a pic I took over 20 years ago when I worked the Battle of Champions. I pitted for #50 Billy Graef.
Sharp eyes will notice Reg Kittrelle next to the #63 bike. And here's a pic from an issue of Battle2Win:
