Started bike, idled for a couple minutes then turned it off. Went to start again and had no gauge sweep, no lights, dim neutral and oil lamps, kill switch did not turn yellow light on, no start. Key relay buzzes. Swapped relays around, swapped fuses around. Is this the ignition switch? |

First of all check battery connector bolts by physically pulling on the positive and negative terminals are they tight? |

Have the battery tested under load at batteries plus etc... putting just a volt meter on them is not the same. Clean battery ground, chassis ground where multiple ECM grounds are located. Clean engine to frame ground |

With your voltmeter or test light negative to ground touch both metal points on each fuse. Both should light up or show battery voltage on the Voltmeter |

P.S check fuses this way without removing them. |

Thanks GD. I haven't been on BadWeb in a while and appreciate seeing your involvement! The battery is new, connections are solid and clean. This happened last time I rode it but it managed to start after a few tries and I was able to ride home. It started with a jump just now but died while running. It is on a hard charge right now because all my messing around dropped the battery's numbers really low. Will see, but I'm still thinking ignition switch. The bike has seen a lot of the elements over the last year, and little use - one of the reasons for a new battery. When not in use I rotate the tender between it and the Uly. |

After the battery is back up to full I will follow your suggestions re: the fuses and grounds. Thanks again! |

Make sure you have your voltmeter on pos and neg check and see if the charging system is putting out. Rev it up and hold it there while checking |

Well, it was the battery. Although relatively new it was bad. I've had good luck with Scorpion batteries before, but this one was bad (no warranty). Purchased a Scorpion Stinger lithium battery (2 year warranty). Problem solved. Thanks for advice. |
