I'd be shocked if they were handing out that "dreamers" list to some random researcher, much less one with conservative ties.
I tend to agree with you on that, at least on the surface. If the data was gotten through hacking, would it validate the study? Of course, that's only a single explanation of deriving the data, and one that I doubt is what was done. There are all sorts of creative ways of analyzing data. I really don't know what kinds of data would be available to determined ones legal status. Often, combining information from various sources can tell you things about an individual, that cant be determined from any of your individual sources. That was a big part of what we did when I worked in Direct Marketing in the 80s & 90s. Some companies were quite secretive about what they did with their analysis, others had us do the crunching for them. It's possible that they used a combination of demographic and habit data that simply gives them a 97% probability of being correct in their determination of an individual. (Just a WAG on the percentage and method) Could that lead to a valid number on how many illegals voted? I would argue that it could, within a certain margin of error. Lets say your margin of error is really bad, like 25%. I would normally hate to use such a poor number for anything, but if it means that 3 million +/- 25% voted illegally, what does that tell you? It tells me there's a boat load of voter fraud going on.
Having said all of that, you raise a very good point. How did they determine a voter's status? It's a key point to understand that validity of the studies claim. It's also very possible that there's many more illegals voting that they couldn't identify.
Sure. You create laws by whim they go away by whim.
Of course if Congress had pulled back over Obama's power grabs then Trump wouldn't have been chosen, since we all would be less angry with the Republican party. That is assuming the mighty efforts of the Clinton campaign to choose Trump hadn't worked.
This is a case of "you asked for it". Literally. Not figuratively as usual.

Trump is going to have to . . . soon . . start acting like a President and not a game show host.
He made LOTS of big promises and the people and media are not going to let him wiggle out of them.
He's going to quickly have to come to the realize that his kids are nice looking and fairly articulate . . . but we didn't elect them nor do we need them. There is not reason in the world, since they are ostensibly going to be "running the family business while he is away" to have them as "national security advisors" nor do they need Security Clearances. I think he also needs to understand that as President . . chatting with young Eric about any confidential information is inappropriate and a crime. Period.
In addiiton, if they can't either close that Twitter account ir shut him down . . he may be the first President ever Tweeted out of office.
He's got lots of work to do and, at present, they appear to be as much in turmoil as organized. One theory is that they never really, deep in their heart, intended to win and we caught off guard by the sheer massive about of work required for the transition.
I'm hoping that he also makes wise decisions about appointments. Rudy Gulliani, who I like, is a great guy . . he is NOT a Secretary of State.

Here's one of the reasons I ask:

White House Leaks Private Trump Transition Communication To CBS News By Sundance, Nov. 14, 2016
The front of the story is that President Elect Donald Trump’s transition team requested security clearances for Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner and Eric Trump.
The reason for the request is simple: In order to see the executive dossier’s and backgrounds of some governmental officials - who are under consideration for Trump administration positions - you must have a security clearance.
Almost everyone on the transition team needs a security clearance in order to see details of the candidate backgrounds. It is no big deal, and has nothing to do with anything except the ability to review information, candidate experience, qualifications and provide an opinion.
However, that said – the bigger back story issue as outlined in this tweet from CBS is far more concerning. It would appear the Obama administration is leaking private discussions to CBS news:

It's an SF86 and requires every address, job, supervisor, foreign travel and foreign contacts for 10 years and an investigation of finances, personal activity and a round of personal interviews Finger prints, birth certificate and service record of deployments as well. I am sure Presidential appointees have a different precedence and hurdles the the rest of us that went through the grinder

^ I understand that even with a certain-level security clearance (such as, for example, Top Secret), that one's access to various intel available at that particular clearance level is determined on a "need to know basis."
[A]t present, they appear to be as much in turmoil as organized.
Source?
One theory is that they never really, deep in their heart, intended to win and we caught off guard by the sheer massive about of work required for the transition.
Source?
It's, um, odd to think that a person such as Trump, who not only wiped the floor with 16 different adversaries in the primary process (including Jeb), AND beat the snot out of the lopsidely-left mainstream media, AND won the presidential election in a landslide, somehow was "caught off guard by the sheer massive about of work required for the transition."
Have you seen his transition team? Pretty damn impressive lineup:

>>>>^ Where do you get your Trump news?
Mostly out the window . . . I live within blocks of Trump Tower and have a number of friends who work in the Trump Organization. I've many friends, 6 of the folks in my current class at Columbia are in family businesses, much like Trumps, doing development in Manhattan.
My opinion of the kids, well mannered and very presentable, is largely from red from watching them speak. Absent video editing . . .I'm confident in that.
I'm sure the media is being manipulated. I have no evidence of any wrong doing. But he's got a long way to go from being a New York Developer to being President.
The selection of Cabinet and Staff will be telling. Thank goodness he had the vision to shake Chris Christie off his heel. While I find Christie entertaining . . he's carrying way too much baggage to enter an administration that is intending to "drain the swamp".

Massively; the 24/7 gaslighting going on right now is breathtaking to behold.

Against staggering odds, he is, in fact, President-Elect Trump.
He has, as he's always done, surrounded himself with the best and brightest folks, this time to guide and counsel him during the transition process. There's not a lightweight in the bunch.
The constant crap we're hearing from the MSM about this, that and the other regarding Trump is just that: Crap.
I know you already know that last part, just tossing it out for the folks who cling to the hope that there's a vestige of credibility left in the mainstream media.

President-Elect Donald Trump Goes Out To Dinner with Family, Media Freak Out By Sundance, Nov. 15, 2016
President-Elect Donald Trump went out to a steakhouse for dinner with his family this evening, and a wounded media completely melt down because they were not invited:
quote:
Donald Trump ditched his press entourage to eat dinner with his family in a famous New York steak house – and was met with a standing ovation.
Trump slipped away from the press pack that usually follows him to dine at the exclusive 21 Club, located four blocks from Trump Tower.
It’s the first time he’s left the tower since he returned from Washington, DC on Thursday, and his surprise visit was met with applause from diners at 21 Club.
“The fact that Trump was dining out and not at home where he said he would was only discovered by chance when a Bloomberg reporter – apparently in the 21 Club by coincidence, on a work outing – took a picture of him as he entered the restaurant to applause from diners.
As the President-elect walked into the restaurant to be seated, he was caught on video shaking hands and telling patrons, ‘we’ll get your taxes down, don’t worry about it.’
His press pool picked up on the tweet and made their way to 21 Club, but found that the block around it had been shut down by police.
The disarray grew even worse when only a small group of reporters – those who had NYC passes – were allowed to wait outside the restaurant.
Those without, which included several members of his private press pool, were forced to wait down the street where their view was blocked by a dumpster.

Former Obama Spokesman Threatens Trump Over Media Access By Sundance, Nov. 16, 2016
In the continuing media saga/melt-down over President-Elect Donald Trump’s audacity to eat a meal in a restaurant with his family we find the following quote from former Obama administration spokesperson Tommy “Dude” Vietor:
quote:
The White House Correspondents Association has to be ready to respond much more forcefully if Trump continues to ignore long-standing traditions of press access. That’s especially true for the five network bureau chiefs who hold most of the power.
I’d like to see them publicly detail their expectations as well as the potential repercussions if those demands continue to be ignored.

True. But is it nearly as far as a Chicago agitator? As Bill Clinton told Ted Kennedy, "that boy should be fetching us coffee", implies a certain lack of actual experience.
As the last 8 years have shown, with ever increasing unemployment, multiple wars, mass refugee movement, slavery & genocide, every item directly because of Presidential decisions and actions, you have to wait and see how full of crap they are.
( of course many not in the "Media" pointed out how bad Barry was going to do quite early, and accurately. )
CNN,etc. and the White House have proven that the odds are good anything they say is false. On purpose. With malice. And zero conscience.

More egregious tweets from the PEOTUS, from this morning:

I am not trying to get "top level security clearance" for my children. This was a typically false news story.

The failing @nytimes story is so totally wrong on transition. It is going so smoothly. Also, I have spoken to many foreign leaders.
quote:
I have received and taken calls from many foreign leaders despite what the failing @nytimes said. Russia, U.K., China, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and more. I am always available to them. @nytimes is just upset that they looked like fools in their coverage of me.

Up to 249 reviews now on Amazon, currently rated at 1.7 stars out of possible 5 (80% of the reviewers have rated her new book only 1 star):
I'm guessing obvious attempt at stacking the deck. It looks like many of those reviews have been deleted. I can only assume Amazon would only do that where they have obvious evidence of foul play (a bunch of reviews from the same IP address?). I don't have a dog in this fight, other than facts. I don't plan on reading her book. I do like her as a news anchor. She had some valid criticisms of Trump, and Trump handled it poorly IMO. If Trump can't learn what battles to fight, he is bound to be far less successful than he can be. I'm hoping for him to do well, but I'm not going to be a blind fan.

This echoes my sentiments exactly. When I look at the person we saw in the first or so 12 months compared to the last 3-4 weeks of the campaign...big difference in demeanor and persona. Lets hope for more of the latter version.

He has undergone the ultimate crash course in becoming a politician, after spending his entire life in a completely different field, and emerged victorious. Pretty impressive, I'd say.

I'm going to go look for the link that I followed earlier to grab those numbers. It was an active, for-real link to her book on Amazon (which I followed to vet it's authenticity).
...and the number of reviews has been changed from 249 to 158, and the star rating system now shows 2-1/2 stars, instead of the 1.7 stars I saw earlier (as of this moment 62% have voted the book 1 star, vs. 29% 5 stars).
I don't have an explanation for the difference in numbers from what I posted earlier to now.

Followed your link. It appears to be the same as what I had posted earlier. Right now it has 56 reviews and 4 1/2 stars. There is a simple, and logical explanation; There is an organized effort to smear Megyn Kelly, and Amazon is doing the right thing in trying to scrub the fake reviews that they can identify. It's been known to happen.
People always manipulate those reviews, and I'm sure Amazon has ways to try and detect and correct them, that are imperfect and sometimes over or under correct.
To make good use of them, you actually have to read the criticisms critically and intuitively. You can still be fooled, but it would take a lot of work to do so. It's generally pretty easy to tell the real reviews from the astro turf (fake pro) and axe to grind (fake negative).
