I listened and it had an effect on how I voted.
That is perhaps, the best statement in this entire thread.
At this point, I'm very relieved, but only mildly hopeful for the next 4 years. No doubt this was the best of what we had to choose from, but I really want better for our country. Perhaps Trump will continue to surprise me in positive ways. To hear the ilk of Krugman bitterly complaining that he is unqualified for the position is hilarious to me. Compared to BO? Compared to Hillary? Still waiting to hear of a better accomplishment from her than simply staying out of jail. That one's not over either!
Trump is far more than just a celebrity game show host. It was a show of his own making BTW. Most game show hosts can't make that claim, they are just a hired personality. Trumps "game show" was also a business to him. One of many businesses that span a good deal of diversity, and have an astounding record of success. Yes, he is a rookie in politics. At least he's a real leader, who leads from the front. I truly hope he can astound me and return America to it's previous greatness. It's a huge task at hand. Celebrate today. The hard work is about to begin. There is much to do after the past 8 years.

This is a great day for America! I am very happy and very optimistic. I wasn't a Trump guy, though I voted for him, but I could not stomach the thought of having Clinton and the democrats continuing to damage America. Congratulations President elect Trump. Make us proud.

Exactly. Hillary was the biggest threat. I am relieved we have somehow beyond all hope escaped it.
Intolerant far right over reach is the next biggest threat (just like intolerant far left over reach was the problem over the previous 8 years).
I hope this is the birth of the pragmatic libertarian republic that really was what has always made America great. I hope Trump is smart enough to see that and usher it in, even if he does it out of selfishness and claims he hit a triple when in reality he was born on third base. I don't care. The majority of politicians will always be politicians (read: a$$holes). Just do the right thing.

One of the major keys to Trump's victory? Breaking through the Mainstream Media firewall and exposing their masters. He called them out early and often. They were, and still are, our enemies, and they will continue to lie to us to advance their masters' agenda.
One of the prominent headlines this morning? "How could the pollsters have gotten it so wrong?"
Because the pollsters were paid by their masters to produce certain results, and YOU - the mainstream media - were paid to promote those results.
We won a major battle last night, but the war rages on.
As Sundance so eloquently states at the close of his brilliant expose below: BREAK THE CYCLE.

An Important Post-Election Message About Media Polling By Sundance, November 9, 2016
Congratulations to everyone who stood up when no-one gave us a chance. You did it, and I am proud to stand beside each and every person who joined the movement to Make America Great Again.
Forgive my indulgence as I take an opportunity to recap a very important aspect to this election that must be hammered home lest the professional political class be allowed to obfuscate the reality of the situation.
For many of us, last night was the culmination of several years worth of painstakingly difficult effort, which began long before Donald Trump announced his candidacy.
To all the fellow deplorables that joined hands and stood resolute against the furnace of overwhelming opposition, my most sincere and humble thanks to each and every one of you. This has been a movement of success against all odds, 132:1 odds to be precise.
However, before we begin the arduous process of holding our political representatives accountable for the mandate we require, there is a very important detail which must be forever etched in the bloodstream of our republic to ensure it is never forgotten.
THE MEDIA DIDN’T GET IT WRONG – The pollsters did not work from the wrong data set; the media pollsters, consultants and professional political class did not work from the wrong assumptions, or use the incorrect baselines...THEY LIED.
The professional media polling agents knew exactly what the truth was.
They lied and manipulated their data in a concerted effort to intentionally falsify reality. There should be no doubt, EVER, in the mind of any political observer as to what took place within the expressed and broadcasted polling which fueled over two years of broadcast news. The media intentionally lied.
They knew the truth. The same tools available to us, and to those who were ridiculed for truth-telling, were available to them and many more. They did not get it wrong. They chose to lie to you the American electorate. So lets name the liars so their names can forever be dispatched from the land where credibility is of value:
- Fox News, pollster Daron Shaw, Shaw Research and associates and the Wall Street Journal. Rupert Murdoch.
- NBC News, pollster Mark Murray, Hart Research and Associates.
- Monmouth University, pollster Patrick Murray.
- CBS News and New York Times writ large.
- ABC News and The Washington Post.
- CNN News Network and ORC Polling.
- Rasmussen and Reuters Polling Operations.
These individuals, along with every single corporate national media polling outlet, which in turn contributed to -and skewed- the larger aggregate of the Real Clear Politics average of polls, were complicit in their intent to deceive the American electorate in an ideological scheme to manipulate the psyche of the American voter.
There is not a single shred of credibility that should remain with any of the above mentioned polling entities.
They did not make mistakes; they did not operate from the wrong assumptions. These organizations, as part of the larger corporate objectives from those who fund their endeavors, lied. Allowing them to say they made a mistake is only dooming ourselves to the continued cycle of battered electorate syndrome.
These entities are our abusers. They have been gaslighting the American electorate for years, and have been able to remain unchecked because no-one has ever called them to task before.
Throughout the last two years we have identified and exposed this corrupt endeavor while being ridiculed and marginalized at each undertaking. There should be no quarter provided and no amount of forgiveness ever offered.
The entire construct of their operational business model is corrupt from top to bottom. This moment in history should forever separate their influence from our national political discussion. PERIOD.

Cliff Notes – Post Election Night Thoughts By Sundance, November 9th, 2016
Here are some quick thoughts before going to a much needed power nap:
Regarding Wall Street Tremors – Remember, it was Donald Trump who personally requested the reinstatement of the Glass-Stegal Act be put into his 2016 platform.
The implication/undercurrent of that alone, is a foundational principle of President Trump. Main Street will be put in front of Wall Street.
Don’t be surprised to see the Secret Service moved back into the U.S. Treasury Dept.
White Hats within every governmental institution now have leverage over their Black Hat supervisors. Anticipate the stories of massive amount of corruption beginning to surface with this paradigm shift. FBI leaks could increase exponentially. The document shredders in DC will be working overtime.
Doubtful Paul Ryan will continue to be Speaker of the House. Anticipate a cabinet position, Treasury Sec. offering or similar down the road.
There are no IOU’s on President Trump’s desk. No executive branch leadership in our lifetime has ever taken office with less owed to anyone, except the American electorate. [emphasis mine - FB]
The influence of Tom Donohue and the U.S. CoC is essentially nil. That irrelevant lobbying means many K-Street offices are going to be tumbleweeds. etc. TPP is solidly defeated.
Megyn Kelly’s contract negotiations just lost 30% of their value. Corporate U.S. media influence and affluence is about to drop by similarly staggering proportions.
President Barack Obama will enter into private negotiations with President Elect Trump. Hillary and Bill Clinton will find no defender within the Obama administration.
Specifically because of the manner of campaign, President Elect Donald Trump holds all the leverage over the remaining relationships within the GOP. He hugged Reince Preibus up real close and comfy-like to ensure this outcome. It was simply brilliant strategy. [emphasis mine - FB]
The entire political era of Romney, Bush and Clinton are kaput.

Kudos, fellow deplorable.

Thank You Donald Trump – Today I Voted FOR America By Sundance, November 9, 2016
Thank you Mr. Trump, today I voted for you.
Thank you for providing me, us, an opportunity to vote for a person who relentlessly and tirelessly worked for all of us.
Thank you putting on that bullet-proof vest and campaigning on behalf of all Americans.
Long ago we accepted the geography of this battle. We knew this campaign was going to get ugly on many levels; you knew it too – and you did it anyway.
You confronted a body of globalist political elites. There are trillions of dollars at stake, and significant power over world events hanging in the balance.
We are not disconnected from fully comprehending the issues at hand. We were also fully aware of the gaslighting, astroturfing, lying, and corrupt propaganda – inbound from all those who held a vested interest in your elimination. You knew it too – and you did it anyway.
We fully understand the scope of media fraud which is, and will continue, occurring on a grand scale. We are well versed in the machinations and schemes of the interests you are faced. We were aware, clear eyed; you knew it too – and you did it anyway.
We refined our understanding and communication based on prior years of confrontation and training amid the various battlefields controlled by the very powers established to see your removal.
We trained ourselves amid the proving ground of the Mississippi 2014 primary fiasco as a recent and painful exhibit. Unfortunately, we reluctantly accepted that neither the Democrat nor Republican party was our friend. Arguably Washington DC is infected with a singular party, a uniparty disconnected from the people they are supposed to represent.
We were forced to accept that non-hyphenated Americans, most of the U.S. general electorate, were unaware of political corruption (on this scale) on both sides of the political continuum. So, we, thousands of us, set about working around a corrupt and deceitful media.
A vast network of patriotic Americans communicate in various platforms and discussions, each bringing increased sunlight to the reality of our situation. The knowledge therein has grown exponentially.
Over the course of the past several years, as your own frustration with the body politic grew, you were/are not alone in this understanding. There are millions of us who have vested our own time, interests and insight into discovering the true root of the corrupting forces within our political systems. The resulting network is significant, massive even.
However, we are not liberal or conservative, republican, democrat or independent. We are not black or white, Latino or non-Hispanic, or any other form of hyphenated categorization. We are not all necessarily religious, nor though are we absent of accepting a moral and guiding God. We are, quite simply, Americans.
Perhaps awakened Americans – in various stages and forms, but clear-eyed to the situation that surrounded us. We are what you seem to reference as: “the no-longer-silent majority”.
Labels or categories of personage, they matter not. What matters is our fundamental belief that we are Americans first and foremost. Many of us have served our nation; even more of us carry a respect for, and cherish the efforts of, those who have and do.
Yes, you were profoundly correct, “either we have a country or we don’t“. We got that.
We are here. Battle tested, slightly bruised, yet fully engaged, high-information and highly patriotic voters. Our resolve is strong; we are quite capable of advancing and forcing corrective action through pressure when needed. We know how to light up switchboards, and to turn out en masse when push back is needed or warranted.
We understand how the media operates – and we fully understand one of their objectives was to try to get under your skin, and by extension our skin, with various provocations. We fully understand the media intents to demoralize us are essentially channeled through their attacks against you.
We see through their ridiculous schemes and agenda polls, we are well aware of how the media manipulates story lines to sell their own chosen corporate and Wall Street-vested narratives.
These years of forging our resolve in the raging furnace fueled by political deceptions have done nothing but hardened our commitment. We no longer hammer, nor fold, nor cool that forging amid tears of betrayals absorbed. Our frustration turned to cold anger, a deliberate resolve.
Those deceivers amid the Washington DC politburo, on both sides of the political equation, have created this group of Americans that stand formidably behind you.
We are well armored, thoroughly prepared, and carry honed battlements beyond penetration by the insufferable optics and tired narratives of the main stream media.
Today, for the first time in a long time, we were able to vote for a candidate who understands all of the significant issues that confront us. Thank you for that.
Today, we voted for you, for America – and for ourselves.

Netanyahu Congratulates Trump, “A True Friend of the State of Israel” November 9, 2016 11:32 am By Robert Spencer
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated Donald Trump on his election as US president on Wednesday and called him ‘a true friend of the state of Israel’.
‘I look forward to working with him to advance security, stability and peace in our region,’ Israeli leader Netanyahu said in a statement.
He went on: ‘The ironclad bond between the United States and Israel is rooted in shared values, buttressed by shared interests and driven by a shared destiny.
‘I am confident that president-elect Trump and I will continue to strengthen the unique alliance between our two countries and bring it to ever greater heights.’

I'll return to the political threads in a few years to see just what you think of President Trump. Who knows, maybe he'll do a great job and be hailed as the best president ever or maybe he'll go down as the biggest disaster ever to hit this country. I doubt it'll be middle of the road. Time will tell.

I don't think I've ever heard or seen Bill Whittle this animated. He has doubted Trump, repeatedly, during the campaign, but I think Mr. Whittle is finally fully on board:

Phase Two – The Postcard Campaign By Sundance, November 9, 2016
Many of you will remember the Postcard Campaign we began on September 28th, 2015. We updated, continued and reminded several times throughout the entire election cycle, especially when candidate Donald Trump was taking the most fire. Mr. Trump received thousands of notes and cards.
Candidate Donald Trump is now President-Elect Donald Trump, and no presidential candidate has ever faced (and defeated) such a severe level of vitriol and hatred from the U.S. media and political opposition. Yet, he did so on our behalf.
It is entire fitting and appropriate for us to send a THANK YOU postcard [to President-Elect Trump and Vice-President Elect Pence]. If you would like to participate just pick up a simple postcard [or two] representative of your town, state or region, personalize it[/them] and mail to:
President-Elect Mr. Donald J Trump C/O Trump International Hotel and Tower One Central Park West New York, NY 10023 USA
Governor Mike Pence Office of the Governor 200 W. Washington Street Room 206 Indianapolis, IN 46204

I offer thanks to a few of you Badwebbers. You really helped with the informative links and opinions. I've been here a long time but always seemed to stir crap (I post little now). I listened and it had an effect on how I voted.
Ducxl, if any of that was directed at me, thank you very much. All I want is truth and honesty from our leaders, regardless of which side of the aisle they're on, and anything I post is an effort to shine sunlight on what I perceive is the truth.
I learn much in so doing, and hope it helps in some small way to open eyes besides mine.

There will be at least one more animated conversation occurring tomorrow. My three-year-old granddaughter came home from preschool, in Los Angeles, today spouting off some pretty derogatory things about President Elect Donald J Trump.
They are paid… To the tune of about $3500 a month… To teach preschool not to indoctrinate.
That crap will come to a rapid stop tomorrow . Let the swamp draining begin.

Not rude at all… We will be evaluating, assessing and realigning the way we deal with many of our allies and adversaries around the world.
The day of "there is an election coming up… Just let me get reelected and I'll do whatever you want" will come to an end
Hopefully… So will that sham nuclear/hostage pay off agreement with Iran.
And… Talk about lucky… I just got a letter from the University, sent to all faculty, advising me that I will have a "safe space" variety than air my feelings of vulnerability for being exposed to radical political thought.

Important piece of political trivia: This is the first time in nearly a century that we've had a republican president, a republican-controlled Senate and a republican-controlled House concurrently.
With this dynamic in mind, imagine the things we can now get done as a country with a president who actually knows how to get things done.

Dang, I thought Sundance would take a well-deserved day of rest. Silly me.
This is for you economics geeks out there; it's a long (but, in typical Sundance fashion, well-written, well-reasoned) read, so I'll just post the thread title and the link:
