My new-to-me S2T has a washer between the fork and the front brake caliper on the caliper mounting bolts. I have a vague recollection of a note somewhere in the archives about a spacer there particular to the S2T. Anyone know anything about that? |

I've had two S2T's and two S2's and none had a spacer. (Message edited by buellish on May 03, 2015) |

If the OP is referring to what I think he is, then I'd call them more shims than spacers. But I thought those went out with the RS/RSS bikes... PM sent a 6 pack (IIRC) of shims, 2 @ of 3 different thicknesses to center the caliper on the rotor. And the RS/RSS bikes did vary for shim thickness - as I recall... 1313 P.S. Yes, pics would be stellar! |

Nothing to picture. Its just a washer. My 1995 S2 doesn't have them. I'll leave them out. But will check centering of caliper on disk. Thanks for the input. |

My 96T has them, I'd call them a shim/ spacer though. |

Without the washers, there is a good bit of piston showing outboard and almost none inboard. So I guess I need something to shim it with. I'll check pad thickness tomorrow. The washers may do for now but I'll have to see how much contact area between the caliper and the fork mount is missing and maybe find some shim material to cut to the right shape. Weird. My S2 is centered without shims. |

Does it have an aftermarket rotor? If I remember correctly I had to shim my caliper on my S1 when I put the Ferodo rotor on, may be not necessary, but I did it to center the disc in the caliper as well. |

My S2 has the same rotor. Can't figure out where the difference is. |
