Hello , I have located a used 2008 1125R with 3000miles in GREECE and I have traded my beloved XB12R for it. The H-D dealers here in Greece are not trustworthy and I had many problems with my XB until I got a service manual and did the service myself. For example when I bought the XB from the H-D dealer in Greece in 2006, they had not performed the recall to replace the steel for the bronze worm gear for the oil pump, so the steel gear failed at 5000miles and the engine broke down. It was replaced under warranty but I was very dissaponted. I do not want something similar to happen for my 1125R, because a recall has not be made by the dealer...... So I am asking if it is possible for somebody with access to recall information to check this 1125R for me. I am more worried for the 5th gear 0834 Recall kits, (part number 94678Y), but also other possible issues, that I have no idea at the moment. Can I buy the 0834 recall kit(part number 94678Y) to install it myself ? Manufacturing date ..........MAR 08 V.I.N................ 04R583B01931 Thanks.......... |

Is HD still responsible for the recall work on these? Or is there some sort of statute of limitations? |

Basically I do not mind if H-D does the recall.... I want to know if it was done ..if not I could do it myself ... |

If nobody else has an answer for you in the morning EST I can run a VIN check for you when I get to work, which will be about dinner time tomorrow for you. |

Also, recall work is recall work. Recalls have an open date and an end date when released. Typical recall periods are 10 years, and the HD dealerships state side still take care of 08 1125's all the time. |

Vagelis46... I looked your bike up for you and the information I have states that the 0834 recall was completed in 2008. The brake line relocate and ECM recalibration were also done. |

Badgerbueller ... thanks ! I guess the ECM recalibration increases the fuel consumption ? Because the early 1125 models were considered thirsty , yes ? (Message edited by vagelis46 on March 09, 2015) |

I did not see any increase in fuel consumption with a race ecm with a Barker ex. I get 31 city low 40 to 48 at 55 mph to 80 mph |

I was trying to say...better fuel consumption after the recalibration...i.e. better miles per galon ... |

Vagelis, many apologies that I did not get back to you on Saturday. It ended up being a very busy day, followed by me being closed yesterday. Glad someone got you the info. This is a great group. |

The information I was looking at also stated that it had a midnight black frame. Is that correct? I was under the assumption that 08's ONLY had the diamond blue frame. |

Ime kala, ke ime apo to Canada, ke tora meno sto Canada, sto Toronto. Omos gia theka xronia (2003-2013) imouna stin Ameriki (Texas). O pateras mou itane apo to Molaoi (ine maniatis). In Canada, the support for Buell is minimal, not much better than what I would gather you are experiencing in Greece. I don't know what I would do without this forum, the people here make it possible to own and maintain this bike. Please share your experiences on XB12R versus 1125R! It must be excellent riding around where you are. Would love to see pictures, too!!! Only if you happen to have some Ride safe file! |
