Replacing in-line fuel filter on my 99 S3T and need to release the fuel pressure first. I have the service manual, but was wondering if anyone has a video on how to do it or where one may be posted online.

Never done this before and wanted to see it done before I start on it. Probs stupid easy, but...

The 90 degree fuel line fitting that comes out of the tank has a Schrader valve (used to check fuel pressure)in the end of it.

Remove the cap and push the valve core with a wire,small rod to bleed pressure.Helps to have a rag to catch the gas.

Here's a pic of the pump, the valve is under the cap.

Thanx James. How much fuel will come out? Enough to saturate a rag or just a small amount?

Shop rag will catch what comes out of the valve.
I disconnect the the hose on the filters outlet side (front)then hold the filter over a pan until its drained then change it out.

You can also unplug the pump wire harness and start the bike and let it die. That's how I do it. You still get some fuel drip when you undo the fuel line from the filter.
