I really like to read things like this and I am optimistic for the future of Erik Buell Racing. As a long time (14years) Buell owner, I think we all feel a sense of pride when it comes to owning and riding American-Made Motorcycles. Although his past bikes have shortcomings and frustrations, they are also marvels of engineering that work & work well. Buell's or EBR's may never be the fastest, cheapest or most reliable bikes out there, but they are arguably the most fun for what they do. I wish Erik nothing but the best of luck. |

I like this part best: "I like living in the future, doing stuff that's really radical rather than preserving the past," Buell said. ZING! |

Maybe he could start up some support for the Old Buells, perhaps a stainless steel muffler for the Uly. |

"Harley-Davidson, though, dropped its noncompete clause in Buell's employment contract and allowed him to start Erik Buell Racing. Buell says his bikes don't compete with Harley because he doesn't build cruiser and touring-style motorcycles, and his company is tiny compared with the world's largest manufacturer of heavyweight bikes." ill keep up my hopes for a really comfortable RACE READY/ENDURO bike (so it's not competing with HD) with mild fueling so it can be comfortably cruised and toured with. |

I'm certainly looking forward to the new AX.. just too darn patriotic to own anything else. I've flirted with the new Multistrada, Explorer and Tenere'.. at the end of the day they do nothing for me.. a motorcycle, to me, is more than the sum of it's parts. Erik's first adventure bike rendition will carry me over to the next. If you build it, we will come.. we're waiting in the wings Mr. Buell |

Great article! I too was looking to go to other brands, but I will wait for a new EBR product. |
