"Also, don't even think of removing the crankcase breather tube that feeds directly into the mouth of the carburetor -- the motor makes more power with it in, and if removed, the first time you roll off the throttle at high speed, you'll blow the valve cover gasket."

Did anybody else catch that? This is absolutely the first time I've heard this! Has anyone ever experienced this happening? It seems like most members here do breather reroutes, and I've put catch cans on all of my Buells except my S2. It's got me wondering now if I'm doing more harm than good...

Thoughts?

Junkie,
Complete "B" as in B, "S" as in S.
I've got breather reroutes on both S2's and my M2. Same for S1 I built and other S3's, S2's and X1's I've worked on..

I think what they meant was don't remove it and plug the holes.

Fasted & Bluz -I haven't had any problems either, so I think you are correct to call shenanigans and BS.
And I think maybe Essmjay is right, but hard to believe someone would plug the breather holes. Well, ok...no it isn't.
