Run bike 30 mins or less. It seems about when it gets hot it will die. the only things i have replaced is the box underneath the seat. the reason for it is after it dies i can wiggle the wires there and it will start back up. and when its idling as i'm looking at it moving that same box will kill it. the new box hasnt changed this. Any opinions or options? |

Box under seat = computer? Perhaps your Bank Angle Sensor (tip over switch) is bad. There was a recall from the factory to relocate the mounting location to the back of the tail because the hot air from the engines would roast them. |

CDI box or Ignition box. Just underneath the seat below the battery. |

Make sure you aren't bumping the bars when you do it as well, it's easy to do both and convince yourself it is the ECM, when it is actually the wire bundle around the steering head. |

this is what ive replaced. the old one the wires would actually move a bit and doing that killed the engine. but it also would run for 20 or 30 minutes and then die. and by pressing down on this it would start up. the old one you could move the wires and kill it as it ran. we would check the wires and found that moving those around it would also kill the motor.

Is that thing actually setting on an old rubber glove? Is that just so you could get a picture of it for us or do you actually run the bike that way? You need to do a search on here for ECM relocation, read tons of info about it, buy a new EBR ECM and relocate it. Problem solved. |

ok i have replaced the ecm, and even moved its location to keep the seat from putting pressure on it. it still ended up doing the same thing with the new ecm. the part number on the new ecm is the same it isnt a newer models ecm. it still is an 06'. the glove is just what i set it on to make it easier to see. |

Maybe it's a break in one (or more) of the wires going to the ECM. I'd check each of the wires from the two connectors carefully; maybe you'll find one that's partially pulled out of a plug or that's been pinched. Otherwise, you'd have to read the schematic in the shop manual and try to figure what wires would cause the bike to instantly die if they were broken, and then check continuity on those wires while wiggling them. Hopefully you'll find something obvious and won't have to dissect the wiring harness to find it. |

Apart from the amazing, it will not help any, amount of "crud" under the seat, fuse box and battery, it is clear that someone has had a problem before? Both wiring looms have had the sheaths cut back (with cable ties used) and it looks like at least one repair has been made in the past. As said you have a broken/damaged or other problem some place. You will just need to find it and it is a good chance it is one in that picture. Good luck. |
