Just got to say riding/owning/maintaining the XB12 is the most fun I've ever had on 2 wheels since I bought my first motocross bike in 1975. So if that's you Erik, thanks heaps. |

Yep, it is me. I think anyhow... Hardly ever have time to get on these web pages, but since I am laid up at home, finally get a chance. Am going to try to get to Daytona for the BRAG event, but wife and orthopoedic surgeon aren't buying in yet. I'll keep working on them. Bad news is that the guys from Koscos and Hals won't be going to Daytona. Too little time to prepare and only one 40 minute practice before qualifying!? But, the good news is that these two teams will be running later this year. Now, it may be one tough class with Miguel, etc. there on full factory bikes, and I know most people don't think they have a chance, but knowing their record, they may surprise a few people. Anyhow, it sure will be fun to watch them and listen to them! Congratulations to the AMA for having the guts to make a Formula class for more brands, instead of a field of cookie cutter bikes. |

OUCH!!! Big time, bummer. Sounds like you are taking it in stride though. Maybe a little forced down time won't be so bad? This thread does raise some interesting questions... Does braking your bones hurt more or less as you age? Ever see a an orthopaedic surgeon in action, hammering, chiseling, drilling, tapping and bolting/screwing together broken human bones? Do they have a design code to go by? Who does the structural analysis for them? What fastener material and grade do they use? When your bones are good and knit, would you have the guts to unscrew/remove the hardware yourself? Why don't snowmobiles and boats have gears? What kind of radical ideas might a Hall of Fame motorcycle designer/creator conceive under the prolonged influence of powerful painkillers and some time for deep thought? Best wishes for a quick and full recovery. We're all looking forward to see what's next from Buell Motorcycle Company. |

I hobbled a long way across the parking lot to get yours, tripps and mike's autographs on my cast. so I say load up on the best medicine money can buy and have some fun. see if this ugly mug rings a bell to ya. hell now I work with ya....should be quite scary a painful day at the races is better than a day at the beach |

"Why don't ... boats have gears? " Some do. Just thought I'd try and answer at least one question. (Crawling back under my rock now for the rest of the day.) |

Anon...I think it is time you get the guys in the shop to fab up a BMC wheel chair (Hot Wheels) with slicks or knobbies and some styling from your favorite bike. Just might be a new Biz Opportunity. God only knows there are enough of us that will be needing something entertaining as the years progress. Heck, look what Corbin did with a friend of mine's couches. LOL |

What fastener material and grade do they use? I don't know about pelvises, but they used Titanium on my ankle when it was crushed. edited by Crusty on February 18, 2004 |

Titanium in my femur, with stainless surgical steel for all the pins. Ever see a an orthopaedic surgeon in action, hammering, chiseling, drilling, tapping and bolting/screwing together broken human bones? Yes, though it was after the fact and it was on me. I also saw/felt what happens when someone goofs and pinches a nerve between the broke ends of the bone. |
