2006 Uly. I think my ECM is causing problems. I'd like to test it out with one that is known to work. Basically the bike has momentary power losses (I call them hiccups) after I've been riding for 20 minutes or so at highway speeds. It has backfired and died a few times, but will restart without problems. The problems seem to manifest at higher speeds (80-85 mph) after the bike is warmed up. It seems to be worse on my commute home which is uphill (increases about 1200 feet in elevation). Also, the freeway stretch of my commute is at the end of my commute home. I am not sure why it always seems to be worse on my way home on that particular stretch of highway. |

Has your TPS reset been done when the bike is hot? See any cracks in the forward ecm connector where it is glued/sealed to the box itself? |

Sounds like the solder joints in the ECM are cracked. I have an '05 ECM with '07 flash you can borrow. |

Ratman: Thanks for the response. It has been in the shop a few times, but the TPS has not been reset to my knowledge. It appears there is a hairline crack where the grey connector meets the black box, which is apparent when I press down lightly on the grey connector. Danair: Thanks, it looks like Teeps may be closer to me. I will PM you if I need it. Appreciate the offer. Teeps: I will PM you. |
