Why is it my uly rolls backwards when its in neutral, revved, and I am not mounted on it? |

I notice that my bike momentarily squats down a bit when I rev it on its kick stand. This is because of the torque reaction between the big V-twin flywheel being spun up to speed. The engine case applies an equal counter torque to the frame resulting in it squatting down as long as the flywheel is being accelerated to a higher rpm. Although I haven't seen my bike move backwards on flat, smooth concrete when I do this, I suspect the squatting/countertorque effect along with the vibration and possibly a slight imperceptible grade may make the bike roll backward in neutral. |

Mine will walk itself out of the garage...I thought it was because it shakes so damn much. |

It's pushing down on the kickstand which isn't straigjt up and down, but angled out and forward So it pushes the bike back a tiny bit each time the bike shakes |

The bike wants to ride and you're standing there just teasing it. |

Vibration. That's all. I wouldn't rev it when you are not sitting on it too much though, as the vibration can also cause it to 'walk' off the side stand! |

I'm voting torque reaction too. Same reason boxer airheads and Guzzis rock to the side when the throttle is blipped. Big flywheels. |

Hey. A funny story? The first Uly I ever looked at was at a HD dealer. It was a demo bike that they were selling. The guy started it up, I was looking, turned to talk to him about the bike and about 1 min later turned to look at the bike again. In just that short time it had move two foot away from us. He thought that was normal which of course it is not. |
