Someone recently tried to steal my Buell by drilling off the key hole to the ignition lock. I was able to borrow the ignition lock off of a friend for another Buell model, which allowed me to start the bike and move it into another friend's garage till I could fine a permanent solution, but it's not the same part and can't be screwed on; it's just sort of loose in there. I haven't been able to find an exact replacement for a 2005 XB12s, but I have found several that LOOK like they'd fit on ebay. My question is, are these ignition locks interchangeable? I can get by with carrying two keys if the gas cap and seat lock are not interchangeable, but I really need an ignition lock that fits. For instance, I've seen a couple of 2009 1125cr and a 2003 XB9 SX ignition locks: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2009-BUELL-1125-CR-LOCK-SE T-IGNITION-GAS-CAP-TRUNK-LOCK-KEY-/270964180891?pt =Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f16b9479b &vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/Buell-XB9-SX-Lock-Set-Igni tion-Key-Trunk-/140860620193?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_ Accessories&fits=Make%3ABuell&hash=item20cbf27da1& vxp=mtr But they don't seem to have a part number listed and I'm hesitant to purchase one. Thanks much! |

All XB Lightnings and the 1125CR ignitions are the same, they will do the trick. Although I wouldn’t bother getting those ones you linked on Ebay, you can order a brand new lock at your dealer for less money, and it use the same original keys. |
