I'm looking to replace the recall shock on my S2 with an original "open" shock, any way to identify one (length, numbers, etc.)?? And what would be a good price for one? (Message edited by hogluvr on August 16, 2012) |

Yes, WP shock. I've seen a couple that look like overall they're the same length, but the springs look like different lengths? |

The WP in this pic is the later WP (S1 - up): S1 rear shock on top Note: formed steel spring end plates. The WP in this pic is an S2 rear shock: stock S2 rear WP shock - except for Race Tech sticker Note: machined (Aluminum?) spring end plates. HTH, 1313 |

1313, Awesome! That's the kind of info I was looking for. I'll post a pic in the morning, someone locally was selling four of them, I ended up buying all four. I plan on keeping two, one for the S2 and another to replace the cosmetically-challenged one on my S1. One looks just like the S2 one you referenced, another looks just like it except for formed steel spring plates. The other two look like the S1 you referenced. Looks like the other big difference is the S1 shock has a shorter spring? |

So let me see if I've got this right. From left to right I am looking at: early S2, later S2, and the last two are both S1? I looked at the cosmetically-challenged shock on my S1 and it is identical to the last two, I am assuming (and you know what happens when you assume anything) the the machined spring plates were the earlier versions and the formed steel were the later versions? Just want to know which one is correct for my S2T.

We had, in the early hey day of heading toward racing, some replacements made for the two rods on the stock shocks. They were lighter and stronger. Somehow, after we went to the races one day, we had a bunch of spares and they ended up in one of my tool boxes. I think they are still there . . . I've been tossing basement stuff, currently have 19 shipping containers ready to go, and may run across them. |

Didn't Lindemann do rebuilds on them back in the day? http://www.le-suspension.com/ I believe they reworked many of those early shocks for the race bikes. |
