I'm going to take my first long ride on the Uly starting Sunday, Dallas to Hilton Head SC. I think the bike is sorted out enough with new ECM, wheel bearings and I'm taking a spare voltage regulator, fuel pump and the stock ECM just in case....LOL I have one slight concern and that is I haven't heard fan run since I put new ECM on. I rode it this morning all loaded up for a test run and it was 90 out. I wear ear plugs and it has D&D exhaust so if it comes on when I'm riding I'd never hear it anyway but it didn't kick on when I got back and I turned it off. I thought I'd read somewhere that they run cooler with the EBR ECM and it has the comfort kit so I'm not gonna sweat it. I had thought about adding a switch to turn it on manually but I'm really out of time between now and when I leave with working and last minute honey do's.....Anyway, if you a Uly from Texas out that way it's probably me |

Easy. Go out and run the bike standing. If the fan does not run after 5 min you may have a problem. The fan should always run if the engine temp needs it. The fan running at 12-15 mph is bike speed controlled to give "forced draft" over the engine and the late bike flash. I do not know if the same with the EBR ECM. Just make sure the fan runs/working before you ride it. (Message edited by Uly_man on July 18, 2012) |

I ran it and couldn't hear it come on so I took the seat off and restarted it, I could hear it kick on in about five minutes like you said. The D&D exhaust is loud............LOL. Ya, I wouldn't purposely run it without the fan. I haven't ridden it very far since replacing ECM except this morning I did about 120miles. Thanks for your help |
