if it is an XB you are working on, it involves the following step: rotate engine down for service. you will want the factory service manual in hand for that job. really. dean |

well what do you mean by " exhaust" if you are just pulling the muffler, that is real straigh forward, no tricks involved. i f you are pulling the exhaust PIPES, that is a bigger deal. dean

muffler's no big deal. everything is real easy to reach. pull the plastic and proceed, 4 clamps is all there is to it. |

I wasn't able to get any socket or universal to work on mine and had to loosen the wheel to get to that stinking rear clamp. When I did put the muffler back on, I moved the bolts on the clamp around 180 deg so I could access them on the other side, just in case I need to remove the muffler again. |

A swivel ratchet and a swivel adapter allowed me to take the muffler off without removing or loosening anything else. I stuck the ratchet through the holes on the pulley. Very easy. |

Muffler removed and exhaust (prototype) installed. Sounds like a Harley on steriods. My next step is to install a cone to create the back presure, also to keep from burning my lifters & a race module. Thanks for the help.
