The final payment has been made on one of the dumbest things I've done, nothing against the bike,I have only bought 2 new vehicles in my life,a 77 gs 550 and the uly. So the sun has set and the moon is rising towards a different street bike, but thanks to H.D. devaluing Buell,my choices are slim, thanks harley davidson. I might look in to a cbr1100xx,opinions any experiences with them?

Wait for EBR to show us something. What's the hurry anyway. I'm kind of waiting for Zero to get their electric bikes closer than a 4 hr drive. But, I'm pretty sure when EBR comes out with the AX, I'll probably start chomping at the bit. It had better be worth the wait. One thing is for sure, if the price is within the realm of reality, they will sell more than 100 of them in quick order. But mostly to fans that know how to work on motorcycles like ULY riders. Without a dealer network in place, you gotta wonder how that'll work out. Maybe they offer the bike with 20 oil filters and a 30 gallon keg of Amsoil shipped to your residence with your AX. |

nothing against ebr but I'l never buy a new bike again,it's 175 miles to the buell dealer now,if ebr starts selling I;d probably have to go to e troy for warranty work. I'm just kinda looking for something different maybe its just winter depression, come may when I can ride again I might feel different. I really like the cbr1100xx but no doubt with all that plastic its a bear to work on. |

I had a CBR1100XX and it was a fantastic motorcycle. Amazing engine would pull like a truck until 6500 and then you had better be pointed in a safe direction. I did not care for the linked brakes but thats just me and its easy enough to de-link them. I had higher Heli bars and a corbin saddle which helped a great deal with the riding position. It is a very heavy bike so dont expect quick handling. It was quite stable well past the indicated 170 mph which I hit on a local 8 mile bridge a couple times. I look back and regret selling it but if I were to get something like that again I would try the Busa due to the aftermarket support and slightly better handling. I still prefer my Uly for life preservation reasons. |

Luftkoph, the CBR doesnt need any work other than the alternator regulator issue which you can read about on their forums. The plastic made the blackbird very easy to keep clean. It's like washing a car! |

thanks rwcfrank I've thought about what you call life preservation aka license preservation, the uly tends to have enough to get me in trouble the xx might send me over the top. I hear a lot of folks say they regret selling there xx Seems like they have charging issues like buells, maybe a mosfet vr would do the trick,I have just started to wade into the xx forums. |

Be sure to get a 99 or later for the Fuel Injection, other than that not much changed through the years. And, absolutely under no circumstances should you ever look at a turbo kit (Message edited by rwcfrank on January 07, 2012) |

There is a dealer network already, and it is growing. I've been to two of the dealers already. |

Every bike has its quirks, some are just bigger than others. I don't know squat about the XX, but if it is only crappy regulators, that is easy to fix. Do a lot of reading on anything you are planning to buy, that way at least if trouble arises, you aren't flying blind. |

I can only hope there is a dealer in my neck of the woods, seems the local Buell dealer couldnt get rid of his Buells fast enough when they shut down Buell. |

I've had 6 motorcycles ('96 CBR 600, '98 Bandit 600, '02 VFR800, '06 XB12X, '07 ZX6R, '02 CBR 600 F4i) and my favorite, go-to motorcycle for any kind of ride is the Buell. I don't care about HD devalueing it. I honestly don't think I'll ever sell it. |

Froggy, I'm just saying it is nice to hear to movement on EBR to develop a network of dealerships.I guess I'm just grabbing for any crumb of info on the new bikes. |

i don't see why you feel the need to unload your now de-valued uly. if anything the poor re-sale value is reason to keep it and ride 'til the wheels fall off. do you always keep vehicles until they are paid off and then sell? YMMV |

EBR relies on their website to generate both interest and income. They have a means for dealers to sign up but have no dealer locator on their site. They need to pay some attention to the details. As far as I can tell, they have zero dealers. |

nillaice It's not that I need to unload the uly,I'm just sorta wanting something different, and the xx is something I like, I do not want to spend much to buy another, and since the execution of buell by HD it doesn't give me a lot to work with thats all. I guess in a way I do keep vehicles until they are paid off because except for the 77 suzuki and the 06 buell I always just pay cash, always have, always will,I have ever bought a new car or pickup in my life and and never will. |
