Lars - 950SM Ben - 990 Super Duke And no, I was having a time keeping up with them. They are crazier than me! |

2kx1, I'll get the bike ready tonight. When and where tomorrow? I'm good for at least my usual route. |

Bman, I had to chase the KTM's around, Sunday. Where were you? Needed help representing the Buells. I'm still convinced our bikes are faster...they're just crazier. |

I know, I am kicking myself for not getting out last Sunday. Didn't hear about any plans from Lars or Ben, so.... I decided to cut the grass and do leaf removal one more time. Really trying to keep on top of it this year. I really would rather have been riding. Yeah, the KTM guys are pretty intense and seem to be lacking self - preservation instincts. Where did you guys ride? |

Ft Wash - North Beach. The 990's are two nice rides. Guess I'm cutting the grass, this weekend. |

I got back this afternoon with enough time to jump on the bike for an errand - got rained on the whole way home. Still worth it! |

I'm thinking about it - it'll be a last-minute decision. One thing I'd recommend you try to catch is a presentation by Doug Wothke (known as RTWDoug on ADV Rider) - he rebuilds old American twins and rides them around the world. The last one was especially entertaining - turning a Sportster into a "Dirtster" and riding the Road of Bones in Russia (without a support time, like a certain couple of well-outfitted actors did). http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68 1994 Or this: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46 2017 |

Well, I went and am now back. Pretty nice show. If you turn right immediately after entering, you will find an 1190RS, and an 1190 KTM, an MV/Agusta F3, and a Moto Guzzi. They had Triumph and Norton exhibits and some pretty cool antique bike exhibits, to include Japanese bikes. The 1190 RS had a LOT of interest. Lot of fun. Glad I went. |

I'll be going tomorrow morning in time to hear RTWDoug at 11:30am, and to see how I fit on a Super Tenere, while wearing a Buell t-shirt. |

Had a good time at the show - but missed RTWDoug. Sat on a bunch of interesting bikes, including the 1190RS (YOW, that is not built for a Sunday cruise!). The Super Tenere was very comfy and not as ugly in person as it is on paper. The Triumph adventure bikes were also very interesting. But I was mostly surprised by the temptation from some naked sportbikes, like the ZX-10...I'm tall, so I thought they just wouldn't fit me. But they kind of did...very tempted to get a quick runabout (something cheap and used) for fun. The Ducati Diavel really spoke to me...you can almost feel the power without it even running.
I did encounter one fellow Buell rider - he was carrying his helmet, which had some sort of furry cover with animal ears. I guess it was a pretty cold day to ride, so kudos. |

I ended up having to wash my helmet liner when I got home because all the booth bunnies wanted to pose for pictures with it on, and I don't want to look like a glitter fairy after every ride... The 1190rs was awesome. So light and well balanced. Maybe I don't need to buy a house after all... |

Hello everyone. I just purchased a 2001 X1 last weekend and am as excited as a kid at Christmas. Can anyone recommend a Buell mechanic in the RIchmond, VA or surrounding area? Thanks, Jeremy |

Welcome to the BadWeb! If you look at the top of this page and about 10 or so lines down from top, you will see two topics related to dealers and shops that give good service. Sorry, I don't know about the Richmond area. |

Anybody in the MD/PA area (I'm about 20 mins from Gettysburg), I'll have the races on Spud Channel on Saturday. For those who don't frequent quickboard - EBR will be fielding two 1190RS's, and Crotchrocket.tv will have one - that's THREE BUELLS IN DAYTONA this weekend!! PM me and I can give directions if you're in the mood to swing by for a beer, burger, and to watch some of the race on the tube IIRC Superbike race 1 will be 1:30; Supersport at 2:30; and Superbike race 2 at 5, all on Saturday. |

Richmond area I would recommend Colonial HD down in Prince George, they fixed my CR when the first stator died, nice folks and they have an arcade/go cart track right next to it to use while your bike is in service. |

Thanks for the welcome guys. I took my previous X1 to Colonial Harley and they are the shop that I'll take my bike to as a last resort. I plan on doing as much work as possible myself but wanted to know what other options there were in the area. Colonial charges $90+ an hour. |
