So as we all may know, the stock brush guards on the handlebars are not very good at deflecting cold air from the top of the hands. There is a mod to make deflectors, but cause some handling concerns for me. My question is; has anyone tried to make some vortex generators for the brush guards? Josh |

I use powermadd handlebar gauntlets. They work awesome, and the bike is still stable to 105+ Palmer Products and touratech both make extentions you can buy. Some have gone to barkbuster VBS guards. |

I got some aerostich heat wraps, they work great! I was just wondering if such a thing had been thought of, something that would disturb the air without impeding on the aerodynamics. |

+1 on the Powermadd gauntlets, fit right over the stock handguards. +1 on the heated gloves too! I have renauds, need both to ride this time of year |

Touratech no longer produces them, only palmer. |

I have the Palmers, they keep the wind from blowing up your jacket at the wrist. They can cause some wobble on a windy day or high speeds but I'll take the trade off on my cool morning commute and rainy days.

Barkbuster storm handguards. Block the wind, are true guards in the event of a tip over and have the option of integrated bar end weights. Just put some on and I'll find out how they work in the cold as the commute to work looks to be about 38F tomorrow. |

Yep ... worked good .. 41F and hands were warm .. Well other than I forgot to zip the flaps in my jacket closed. Hands were warm .. core was cold. It's only a 20 mile ride so it's so bad. Odd not to have the fan kick in after the ride though. |

I hear that! 30 mile ride in 30 degree weather, fan sometimes doesn't come on, depends on traffic. I got some aerostich grip wraps, they work great for the inside of my hand, knuckles still freeze though. Josh |

Anybody got a set of Barkbuster Storms they want to part with? I'm thinking of putting some on this winter, and if you're looking to change it up maybe we can help each other? I'm going to post on the classifieds to. Thanks. |

The Storms don't look bigger than stock. If that is the case the VPS has an extra height shield that attaches. Anybody? |

The storms are bigger than stock. Just tall nuff to create a calm pocket of air around the hands. I'll try a post a pic tonight. |

I got barkbuster vtx year round but lately I added these to keep the wind off http://powermadd.com/products/HandguardGauntletATV .html They look funky but they work and I don`t need to run the grip heaters on high till its below freezing. |

These contraptions have been on the Uly for two years. Work fine up to 90 plus, that's the max speed I've been to.

Better late then never. here is a pic of the storms. Wind hits just above the wrist but unlike the stock, the hands are out of the wind.

I just put on the PowerMadds and they work good, but they don't fit very well on the right with the Buell Quest in the way. I like the idea of the Barkbuster Storms because they are an actual handguard that works and you can take the deflector off in hot weather. Vented glove don't vent very well with the Uly hand guards. |
