This is a two part question. First what is the widest tire anyone is squeazing under a Buell. Excluding the xb series. Next is anyone manufacturing a wide tire kit for the Buells. Swingarm, offset pullies, sprockets? I've seen a 250mm tire in I think american iron. I'll have to dig the issue out. |

If any wider tire would yeild ANY benefit to the Firebolt, it would have been there from the factory. Remember, as you procede, that you are "becoming a test pilot" in operating the bike outside it's design limits. Ride safe, Court |

FTD, yes it is. I'm bored with the chopper so now it's on to something else. The Radical class at the shows is getting to the point of the highest dollar bike wins. I'm not going to get into a "my bank account is bigger than yours " contest with these guys. I have my Gixxer that I can cut up but most shows don't have an import class. Thus a Buell would work since it's Harley based, and I'm not new to stuffing wide tires under Harleys. Court, I don't recall asking if a wider tire is better, just has it been done that anyone knows of. I live to cut stuuf up, cause stock sucks! Anyway I'll keep searching. Thanks for your concearn.

Ahhh, I found it! Cover bike on Hot Rod Bikes July 2001. An M2 Cyclone with an Avon 250 rear and a 150 front with a 95" stroker motor. They sectioned the rear wheel to 8" and then stepped it up to an 18". The article is crap but the pictures are plenty. It can be done. |

Kosman specialties widens cast wheels, probably for race use only though. Also, maybe they could do some kind of offset drive sprocket and outboard bearing setup? r-r-customizing.de(in Germany)make a 6m.m.offset pulley, not sure how wide a tire you could fit with one, maybe 190-200 with the correct width rim.Their website shows alot of nice Buells, they can return e;mail in English. Bakerdrivetrain sells a sprocket and chain kit that they claim will clear a 200. There are some links at borgforum.de that show some custom Buell stuff they're doing in Europe. |

P, Check out Redneck Engineering. They make a "Hillbilly Buell" frame. I saw their finished product at Biketoberfest. Definitely different. Frank

FTD, was that from this years Biketoberfest? The first one done by RE was Freds bike the guy that works there. It was just in one of the mags. I think he used a Buell front end along with the Buell's gauges and a big twin drivetrain. I think this is an economical way to get into customs. However after building two RE framed bikes I'm looking for something different. If your were roaming around RE booth in Daytona you may have come across my bike. |

Yes, that Blue/Silver Buell chop was at Biketoberfest '03. I live in Orlando so I'll be at BW for sure. I always go by the RE Booth so if your bike is there I'll check it out. Sweet ride though. You attending or is just your bike being displayed? Frank |

Hey that's a cool model. FTD, I was at the 03 event. I park my bike in their booth since I use their frame. I'm in and out. I was there in March with a slightly different paint job and was there Oct 02 with a different bike. Hopefully for March 04 it'll be a diiferent bike again. |
