So I find my boots are slipping occasionally with the current foot pegs and controls, and am thinking about getting some replacements. Any suggestions? |

Well, what do you currently have? The black 09 pegs are actually pretty good; they're what I use on my CR and kinda-sorta what I made out of my '06s factory pegs (filed sharper edges into the teeth). |

Here's what I did and I love them. I got the ones an inch lower than stock but the controls can be adjusted to work fine. They also have billet ones that are the stock height. Then there's shifter levers and brake levers that are adjustable. All kinds of ways to get rid of disposable income!! http://www.preeng.com/xcart/home.php?cat=8&sort=or derby&sort_direction=0&page=1 |

Currently running the stock pegs, it's an '09 xt. I've just noticed an occasional slip off the pegs with the return of the fall rain. I'll have to check my boots too, as they may be getting a bit worn. Poking around, it looks like the Precision Engineering pegs might be the way to go. Good to hear you like the quality Tootal. I've always had slight problems with the shifter and brake, damn my stubby little feet. It looks like their adjustable bits allow for moving the peg back a bit, which might just do the trick. Thanks guys. |

i have the Preeng, actually i have spare pair, and love them, a friend is looking for something similar but not the pre eng, so each one at their own taste, there is also the touratech, but from what i saw, they were not what i liked. |

I find the pegs on my '09 are quite slick in the rain as well. Its not just you or your boots, the pegs are poorly designed as far as grip goes. It wouldn't be impossible to make the stock pegs grippy. You could either drill/tap for small setscrew type allen screws like Fastway pegs or could cut them a bit so that it had some pointed, grippy teeth. I think I might get the PE standard height billet pegs though, they look like they'd be quite nice. Anyone know of brake/shift levers with ball bearing pivots and folding tips? |

I drilled and tapped about 12-15 holes and added ss steel set screws from the bottom up. http://www.google.com/imgres?q=buell+footpegs+set+ screws&hl=en&sa=X&qscrl=1&nord=1&rlz=1T4SNNT_enUS3 72US372&biw=1366&bih=589&tbm=isch&prmd=imvns&tbnid =B0ZOb8Y10oVcmM:&imgrefurl=http://tigertriple.com/ forum/viewtopic.php%3Fp%3D31789%26sid%3D79bd025fca c1879655cd5eee083ad924&docid=1hodCDQSYgycDM&itg=1& imgurl=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v638/Stre tch67/IMGP1715.jpg&w=640&h=480&ei=8WmkTpGVFsTUiAK_ _em5BA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=503&vpy=335&dur=1415&hov h=139&hovw=186&tx=120&ty=87&sig=104883649155971243 983&page=3&tbnh=108&tbnw=143&start=47&ndsp=24&ved= 1t:429,r:2,s:47 |

That is pretty darn slick. Gives me a reason to break out the recently acquired drill press too. |

I bought my bike with these already installed, and I really like them: http://www.preeng.com/xcart/product.php?productid= 29&cat=8&page=1 |

The old silver pegs are crap, if they get wet and I hated them so replaced them with Tourtech on my 06 bike but found them to grippy for road use. The later black pegs work very well for road use. I would advise them. |

Rwcfrank, I guess you gave up barefoot riding. |
