Yes, I double checked because I didn't believe the price knowing they come from the land of $70 chrome dipsticks. |

ok soooo can you tell me what the spring part number would be from the first run(early) 08 R would be? The fork number mentioned above ends .1AM |

Froggy, are you sure that isn't the part number for the top-out spring? Those are much smaller than the main fork springs and $6.22 seems a lot more likely for them. Racetech, etc, sell fork springs for $80 or more for a pair so I'd be really surprised if HD sells them for much less than $40 each. Do you happen to know what the .1ama and .1amb for springs are rated at, in lbs/in or kg/mm? |

#13 is the spring I am referring to. I don't have an 08 parts book to compare with to see what is different. |

I called the local Harley dealer and they quoted me $6.22 for the parts--so under $25 shipped to me. (The dealer is an hour away.) I should have them by late next week. I guess we'll find out for sure if these really are $6.22 fork springs! |

This is hysterical. Wonder if the stiffer springs are to be found anywhere |

Presumably, the part number is for the earlier revision would probably be J8113.1AMA. Maybe Froggy can confirm--he seems to be johnny-on-the-spot with the parts diagrams. |

Correct, typically original parts end with no revision letter (Just .1AM in this case), revised once get an A, revised again gets a B, and they go down the alphabet. I googled the part number with those different revisions and came up dry, so I'm not positive what the 08 spring part number is, assuming its even still available. |

The springs showed up a couple of days ago and they are indeed fork springs. For $6.22 each. Really. Makes you wonder if that means that the fork springs you'd buy from Racetech or Traxxion Dynamics, etc, really only cost a few bucks but are being sold for $90+ a set. |

I doubt that Racetech has the volume that a mo-co has in terms of buying power, and its very likely that the OEM springs are of a lower quality than those from a specialty shop. Not to mention overhead costs, R&D, a reasonable profit, etc, I don't think $90 is bad at all. The 07 Ulysses has progressive springs, those are the most expensive Buell OEM springs at $50 for the pair. |

R&D is a good part of this too, especially if these are progressively wound springs. |
