I have worked at a paint store for the last 3 years, never wanted to post on here about it as people will think I’m trying to make money and didn’t want to have to deal with the whole forum vendor thing as Im not in here for profit. We have 10 different paint lines, and only one brand has ever been able to make Buell paints. Well the time has come where we are getting rid of that mixing system due to California's V.O.C. regulations and I hate to say it but we won’t be able to mix Buell paint anymore. I know how much of a headache it can be trying to get a paint store to make Buell paint, and how hard codes and such are hard to come by so I wanted to try to help as many people out as I can before we get rid of this system. Colors we have documentation for: Billet Silver (36571) Blue Streak (190388) Nuclear Blue (0002) Snap Red (75050) Volcano Gray White Pearl Tri Coat (0001) I can make any of them in Pints, Quarts, or Gallons, we also have a pneumatic machine that will load it into a professional spray can. Also can make them Ready to spray which is prereduced all you would need to do is load it into the gun and clear over it. Best thing to do is email me at deanh8 @ gmail . com Im going to do my best to keep the specific toners aside when we let the system go but once I run out of a toner I wont be able to order any more replacements. Best to check with me and see if I can still make it. (Message edited by deanh8 on August 12, 2011) |

The new paint line we are getting in does have these colors: Demon Blue Pearl Reactor Yellow Black Sapphire Pearl Tri Coat Molten Orange Pearl Tri Coat - (no pearl??) But its a lower quality paint then what it is replacing. And the Molten orange pearl color shows up as not having any pearl, so I thought that was kind of weird.. but the colors in my first post will be very accurate to the original colors |

deanh8 yeah sorry guys.. Spray cans get pricey but they work awesome and its the same exact paint you would use to spray your car with a gun, loaded into an can. Downside is you also need to buy a can of clear. Honestly if you take your time, prep good it wont come out any better out of a gun then it will these cans. This aerosol stuff is badass, we do metal flakes, kandies, and pearls all in this stuff out of aerosol and they come out awesome. This was done from start to finish with our aerosol cans... http://i421.photobucket.com/albums/pp294/abkustompainting/exhibition%20room/5975514807_e175f036cd.jpg (Message edited by Deanh8 on August 12, 2011) |

Anyone know the vendor rules around here? Can I post prices or will people get upset? I’m not making any money on any of this stuff, really just selling it all at my cost as an employee. I just want to help the Buell community as im not going anywhere anytime soon and this stuff isn’t going to be available anymore. Ive looked at it for years and wanted to help people out but because of this I never bothered to post. |

What brand is this paint if you don't mind. I was a body shop painter for most of the last 14 years and am certified in DuPont and PPG.....wondering if I should pick up some 0001 just in case.... |

Nuclear Blue: is that a single coat with a clear or is it a candy (base, color, clear)? This replicates the purple/blue flip-flop? If it's single-coat, is there a trick to the pressure used to spray it to get the flip effect? I need to repaint the frame on my S1W and you are a life saver. I honestly never thought I would get anything close. |

I thought nuclear blue was a 3 stage paint. Blue base with a red or purple pearl. I recently learned it is powdercoat not paint. I didn't know powder could look so good. |

Yes, the original finish was powdercoat but, I'm all ears if somebody has a paint that matches. I have a set of perfect wheels but, the frame will need to be pretty close. |

And again, another lost opportunity. There really needs to be a distinction between members helping members and dealer/retailers. This is a perfect example of a limited opportunity for us to obtain a product not available from any of the sponsors on this board. |

I'd take just the paint brand and formula number for the 0001....if you'd rather PM it to me that would be fine if I can't get a good color match for the white pearl when it comes time to repaint I'll just go candy blue and be damned with the correct color |

Hi Dean, ProSpray is not too far from where I live in England. Could you please send me the paint formula for Nuc blue (0002) so I can order some from them? If you’re not happy sending me the formula can you email it to ProSpray direct? My email address is design-time@btconnect.com Kind Regards Darren |

rules are rules. we have this forum for free because of sponsors. start making exceptions for one, then everyone will want similar treatment. think from a sponsor's point of view. there are other forums available if this one seems unsuitable for anyone. no one is forced to participate. be happy we have this resource. use another if this one does not serve your needs. be creative with work arounds if need be, but don't be surprised if the administrators call you on your discretions the admins work very hard to make this forum work, and ask only that everyone follow the same guidelines |

No problem whatsoever if at cost. Thanks Dean. Please post a cost sheet here for all to see if you would. That will allow me to also verify. Thanks again! |
