keith I just called ups and used your tracking number. It is on time for delivery tomorrow the 14th of nov. hold on just a few more hours. The reason dean got his quicker was because to alaska they only do second day air. but ofcourse it cost more. so just hang in you'll have it for the weekend. To bad we couldn't do that 2 day thing you wanted to do. trust me its worth the wait. dean you can pound the pavement in your garage. Just hold the front brake and let her rip thanks to both of you |

Just curious but can you send just the TPS unit in to get reset, or does disconnecting it from a bike null out it's content settings? And if it needs battery power could you build up a battery powered holder/carrier to keep its settings charged while in transit to and from a dealership. Seems pretty bad that some guy who's nearest official dealership is 500 or more miles away can't get his sensor reset. More and more I'm sticking with carbs. |

mike No it can not be disconected and reset. The process is actually resetting voltage to 0 and so forth an so on |

Bummer. Guess that would be too simple of a solution. Can he get it done over a modem connection via a computer interface? Got to be some way around taking the bike in everytime something changes or the bike runs out of gas and having in some cases to wait three weeks for the reset. |

no you don't need to reset it if you run out of fuel. Mostly in only needs to be set if power is disrupted i.e. dead battery or battery removed or something of that ilk. I haven't reset mine since 5k mark and I have 14k on it. That means even changing out the pipe as much as did during the developement of the drummer It didn't need it. it will all be ok |

actually i have a HD shop up the road in soldotna.... but i commited the cardinal sin of not buying the bike from them. they sent me out for test drive, quoted price, then i tried real hard to buy the bike and they would not sell at that price. it went up 1200 dollars during my test ride. so i called bellevue, had one deliverd within a week to my door. $230 freight. i still buy parts from these guys, but it just isnt like the old days, when i rode harley they liked me better. |

Thanks Brian, UPS was right, it wasn’t here when I arrived home tonight. Thanks for checking, guess I won’t be stopping at the bar on the way home tomorrow. Waiting for the pipe is almost as lame as breaking in the motor. |

Fitted the Drummer today, tps reset tomorrow. It's gonna be good! Looks excellent and feels like it weighs about 1/2 the stock XB12 can. Some pics... |

Hope I'm not overdoing the pic stuff. Here we have a hanging Drummer and the finished install. I fired it up with the stock ecm for a sneak preview of the sound - it's great, not too loud, and I can't wait to test ride it with some decent throttle tomorrow. And it looks a lot better than the original 12 can. |

Opto, wait for me. I have had my pipe on for nearly two weeks and still waiting for the ECM and filter. I figured I had to order it from my dealer to keep the "ins" on getting the great service I get. |

I am single again and just love'em. Dated a great girl years ago. memories...god love'em Lee 2 weeks...what the heck is the hold up. it ain't snowed that much up there yet. TPS reset is done to tell the ECM where the throttle is (angular position). Running out of gas will not affect it. When you change ECMs (upgrade to race ECM for example), the new one simple needs to know what the throttle position is. Keith |

Brian, Grey Davis is the one that slows everything down. I'm glad he'll soon be history. Still don't know about the Terminator, he is untested. Is that dyno still tied up? British women have about the same accent, but see much less sunshine. |

My XB has now been poked. No longer a virgin. I want to commend you on your product! I didn’t finish up until 11:30 and the rent-a-cops chased me around the complex where I live for about 5 minutes. I didn’t know we had any sort of security here. I was doing the 3-5K ECM break in. I asked them if I was speeding, they said no, I was too loud. I didn’t get over 4K. Good thing I wasn’t testing the S2. They might have called the real cops. I really like the sound. Compared to the S2 with a heads, cam, and a Vance&Hines, it is about 70-80% as loud. I could feel the increased torque. Looking forward to riding tomorrow. I was taking it real easy since the streets were wet. I was afraid that if I hit the throttle around a corner, I may have been saying hello to a curb. The ECM still needs some more breaking in though. Tomorrow morning I will see if the ECM can figure out what is going on. I’ll drop by the Vallejo dealer tomorrow and see if they can do the TPS reset on short notice. Need somewhere to go anyway. Hopefully it won’t be raining. I did have one complaint though; there were no instructions on how to install the air filter. Harley and Buell are so good about providing instructions, I even remember getting instructions for a clutch lever and grips. I did find out one other thing., it soesn't start if the Bank Angle Sensor is dangling. Isn't that Service Manual great! edited by kaese on November 15, 2003 |

Brian, my check engine light comes on occasionally and stays on until it gets shut off. I start it again and it goes out. The owners manual says there may be a fuel management problem. Duh. My question is, I’m not hurting the bike by riding it am I? In addition, I was trying to tighten a rattle in the headlamp when I had it off and screwed up the headlight adjustment. Service manual says take it to the dealer to get them readjusted. What is the big secret? I can do it myself, but need some guidelines. Thanks, Keith

kaese A troyble code may have been tripped which could be the engine light. If it is it needs to be cleared at the dealer. If you are talking adjusting the the beam its the lil screws on the housing just like most everything out there. you could use a wall to adj. In the manual it gives the distance to use i.e. how far away from the wall and how far up the wall. It ain't hard. That engine light thing is wierd. did you get the tps reset |

I’ll have to wait till Tuesday for the TPS reset. I wasn’t up to riding in the rain for 80 miles. I did call Vallejo and they said I could pop in anytime and have it done. Unfortunately, today and Monday are the Buell tech’s day off. I get the feeling that HD only requires one Buell tech per dealer. Anyway, the check engine light didn’t come on until about 15 miles after the install. I shut it down and it didn’t appear again after I rode it for about another 10 miles. It misses on the cold start up and there are a few dead spots in the throttle. I’ll just ride it to the TPS reset on Tuesday. That way, I won’t have any more tribulations. It's not as much fun riding it in this condition anyway. I am really looking forward to its potential. I’m sure the reset will cure its ills. XB12R, I have a 9, unless you know something I don’t. edited by kaese on November 15, 2003 |

Hey Bubba, the Drummer rocks hard! Very, Very, Nice. Good job to you and Kev. Sounds great, not too loud, has its own unique drumdrumdrum sound. It's like riding a new bike, well, an improved new bike. Got the tps reset but I'm not sure if they got it quite right, motor feels a bit lean at small throttle openings and it hesitates with a slow roll-on at 3500rpm in 3rd gear for example. No probs when giving it some stick though or just cruising on the hway. Will put some more miles on it and see what happens. This bike is incredibly quick off the mark! Doesn't take much throttle to get the front wheel airborne in 1st (as I found out today) um, er, more than a slight improvement over the 1200 Sporty I've been riding the last 7 years! I am really stoked with this bike and the Drummer, and it's a real bonus to fit an "aftermarket" pipe that is originally an OEM part, it fits properly and the hardware is original. And it looks like it belongs on the bike. I'm a very happy camper, thanks Brian & Kev. |
