Shane's right, of course, but after 6 months of no work, I'm reluctant to turn any new clients down. Last year in Leakey was a hoot.

I am not going to make it. I still have my room reserved though. Not enough vacation days to drive or ride up there. So far, I have not been able to use my points for flights. REX

47 Degrees and raining... Sounds like Hoosier Pass during the first S2 Gathering. I better bring my cheap rain gear... I am still thinking of trying to get to Duluth and the Aerostich factory. The nice lady on the phone told me it was a 10 percent discount if I rode there in person.

Anyone getting excited about this?????

My route and time on the road is changing daily. I may have to take the most direct route there.

I already started thinking about things to bring along (think S2 Support Equipment)....

Spare belt (no I never changed mine)
Tools (got to be smart about which ones I take)
Spare clutch cable
Spare throttle cable
Tire repair kit
Portable 12 volt air compressor
cell phone (I will post my number before I leave)

Spidy, what is the head count?

I look forward to seeing the best Buellers on the planet and checking out the best bikes that BMC ever made.

Funny you should mention the belt frank, mine broke the following morning after returning from Christmas in the driveway when heading out to work. I couldn`t have gotten any luckier. The last one I broke in Kokomo Indiana and had to change it in the Holiday inn parking lot fortunately I had enough tools with me to do the job

Frank.......Yeah.....getting pumped. Had James Banke put a set of S3T bags on the S2, and it is now up at Fireman Jims getting "ready" for the trip. (should have done this months ago).

I see most us us are doing last minute stuff...might be a S2 syndrome.

Sure hope you will not need your tools!

Ride safe all..Jack

Tim,

Do you know where you are camping yet.

I've looked around but haven't settled on anywhere yet...

I've determined that I'll likely not get everything done that I wanted to before the trip.

Starting to prioritize what is falling off the list so that I can leave on the 14th.

Jack, you may be onto something...

All I have to do is change oil and replace the tires. New ones are hanging on the wall. The ones on the bike are only good for about half the trip and the rear has a plug in it. Don't really want to pull a Smoke so new ones go on. I am leaving on the 9th, a 4 day run on Hwy 12 and I-90 to Madison WI so I can visit my daughter for a few days before running up to xmas. The trip back will be more indirect. I am giving myself two full weeks so I will have 7 days to work my way back to the west coast. Thinking Black Hills, Yellowstone, Lolo Pass. I will be camping on the way there and back. Going to bypass North Dakota, those folks have their hands full.

It looks like you are going to have a great time. Sorry, I cannot make it this year. I just received a note from Safeway, that they want me to meet with them in Pleasanton, Ca. on Thursday, June 14th, and I would not be getting home till June 15th in Arizona. Sorry guys. Take photos for me.

Here are my plans (subject to change). Head to Omaha NE on the 12th and stay in a campground ( maybe a koa on the east side of Omaha. On the 13 th head to Bluzm2's casa for the night. On the 14th head to Duluth MN for a few hours and maybe a large purchase at Aerostich (getting a 10 percent discount just for riding there) then on to a campground somewhere on US2. On the 15th head into Christmas.

My cell phone number that I will be using on the trip is as follows

719.200 four nine five seven.

Enjoy the UP, guys. I have a deadline on a big job that is the kind you can't say no to, so July is busy time this year.

Being self-employed is great, but sometimes the boss won't give you any time off when you need it!

Just got the S2 back from Fireman Jims........runs great. Just took the S3T bag mounts off to give them a quick paint job.......(spray can).........don't want James Banke's great work of art to get rusty. I will power coat them when I do the frame. I "shudda" done all this weeks ago. Picking up a new air filter tomorrow and then pretty much good to go.

How is everyone else doing???????????

Ride safe..........Jack

I spooned on new rubber front and rear, changed the oil and filter, almost packed and ready to go. Leaving Saturday at dawn. Will be winding up Lolo Pass at dawn on Sunday. Almost got delayed after my wife found a leaky pipe behind the base cabinets in the kitchen, been leaking long enough to create a big mold problem. Stayed up late last night tearing it all out and today I will fix the leak and leave the rest until I return.

Love that rack adaption Jack. I wanted to do that but had no one with the skill set available so I went with the s3/s2 conversion rack.

Looks great Jack....

I sent you and Shane my plans as they are today. When I was coming home from work from work today I started to get a strange vibration. Anyone ever have a muffle split on them?

It is hard to see but it also started splitting around the part that slides over the header. I think a good welder can most likely fix this but what do you guys think. Can it be welded and saved?

I think it could be welded. Alignment afterwards might be harder.
