my 97 m2 runs great some days and engine will cut out others i just rebuilt carb and new manifold seals it happened before carb rebuild. I will be riding at constant speed and then start to die if i twist the throttle wide open it will fight to stay running then die on the side of the road, it will start again after several atempts some days it dosnt happen at all others its constant any clues ideas? |

my guess would be an intermittent connection somewhere in the ignition circuit. Check all your wires for good connections. While the bike is running, poke random wires to see if poking said wire makes it die. I had an odd issue once with my X1. One of the wires to one of the fuel injectors broke inside of the wire insulation in such a way as to connect half the time. I ran on one cylinder intermittently. Beyond that, I don't know. That is a simple and easy test though, so it's worth trying just for the hell of it. |

I'm with Mick, pop the cap loose next time and see if it helps. Might be the vent. |

Check resistance on your ignition coil, both windings and compare ohm readings with service manual. I am dealing with this on my X1. |

+1 on tank vent. Flip the latch to loosen the cap next time it happens, bet it clears up. |

COIL GOING BAD mebuell hit it on the head !!!!! i had same thing happen on my s2 went to harley on a sunday bought a coil 95 sportster |
