The way I look at it is, you already paid for the coat & wont get your money out of it, so just buy another one. A decent leather coat can be had for $200. I am looking at picking up a new Harley screaming eagle leather..I really like the way it looks. Wont be color matched to my bike so what? I think its about $370. BTW..you can buy another jacket, they arent like wives, you can have more than 1. I have probably 4-5 different leathers & several Joe rockets along with maybe 15 other jackets. |

Also the only reason the Buell coat costs $500 is because its a Vanson...you are paying for the name. Their stuff is good, but there are a lot of manufacturers out there that have just as nice if not better for half the price. Just got my mail today & Racine Harley has some deal going on this sat. Demo rides & 20% of clothes. Hmmm that jacket I want is $350..just checked..I can get it for $280. |

Love my Vanson, comfortable jacket.Dyna I don't go and spend $3-$5 on jackets.I don't need one that bad.Like I said if someone wants to trade fine if not fine the blue jacket will save the skin on my back just the same. |

I wonder if that leather shop down near Loomis Road and 27th or so is having another clearance sale this winter? Or are they still even there? |

Mike, the one that is in with the independent HD service shop is having it's sale now or at least so they say. I stopped in a few weeks ago and looked around. Interesting selection. Not all poser drag. Lots of conservative sport bike stuff. |

Bill, you talking about Cycle empire/Leather empire? I have bought the wife a couple coats from there. You can get some good deals. Real leather gets super low on some of their prices. I have seen real nice leathers going for less than $100 some times. Granted those are usually poser style jackets with no real protection...but they still look good |

CJ is correct about Real Leather. I love that place. Great selection of styles and sizes. Just wish someone in Milwaukee would carry leather jeans. This is "Chap's Country" according to all the shops I have visited. I bought all my stuff at Real Leather last year and make sure I wear it every time I go back. Got a new jacket there this year and got Di a whole riding outfit and some other stuff. Easy to negotiate with if you are buying more than one item. Is the old "money talks and bullshit walks" thing. Also suggest "Seams Sew Perfect" on 52nd and Howard for alterations and used stuff. They were recommended by the folks at Hal's and did an excellent job for me. In fact, I even have my old leather jeans there on consignment. If anyone is interested in the jeans, email me for the details and I will take them off consignment and sell them to you direct for a lot less. edited by nevco1 on October 15, 2003 |

I'm looking for the 2001 Buell dealer literature to complete my collection. Does anyone have an extra copy they'd part with? I think I've got a couple copies of the 2002 if anyone wants to trade. Email me if you're interested. Thanks. jrwrigh@iastate.edu |

Dyna...Yep, Cycle/Leather Empire is the place I was referring to in my first post. Interesting place. Lots of neat stuff at good prices. Reminds me of an indoor swap meet. Am thinking about having the stock saddle for my X1 gelled there this winter. The guy does great work and I prefer it over the Pegasus two up saddle for riding solo in the twisties. Just don't care for the pressure points when I start to crowd the tank and a little more padding without raising the profile would be perfect. Oh Lord, what am I saying...Between the "Fashion and Food" threads, the BWB is beginning to look more like Cosmopolitan Magazine than a motorcycle board. Ugh... |

Hey Dyna's right.. I'm sure we all pose some what on our Buells.. Of course, our style of posing moves a little faster.. and leans a lot harder and produces a lot more endorphins than most other types.. Wouldn't you agree Dyna? Hehehehehe.. Yep, still need to 'Lean it Like you Mean it'.. Hey look, that was 'pose' sort of.. hehehehe.. Later. |

I'm sure we all pose some what on our Buells OH OH, that statement is sure to get you in the doghouse with a few folks. Dont you know Buell riders never ever pose. All riders pose & those who say they dont are just trying to fool themselves. |

Hey...Bueller's don't pose, they ride aggressively and I like it. Then again, I also have a Wide Glide, so I can get the posing thing out of my system without dis'n the Buell image. |

Nevco.. You mean to tell me you've never thought of how 'cool' you look as you lean it over, or pull that front wheel up, or smoke that tire or whatever? Come on.. we all pose to some degree or another.. Hell, I even have like two Buell shirts that I've worn before.. Dyna, yep, you were right.. it's starting already.. I guess they're just striking their pose against posing.. trying to keep their poise.. about posing.. Later, |

Blublak...Ok, you got me to a point. Then again, I think I covered that with my riding aggressively. FYI, only do the lean thing and leave the rest of the stunts to those who like to R&R their bikes frequently. LOL |

I'm looking for a fair deal on a Super Trapp closed end cap (plain or billit) and a few disks for a 4" system. I don't care if they are discolored or dirty - just not all bent up. Thanks Ron |
