Ebear: Great to hear from you . . . as you develop your travel schedule keep me posted. You're always welcome here if you need a place to stay or just a meal enroute during your 2011 travel schedule. I'm thrilled about what you are doing with the moto-journalism and wishing you all the success in the world. You have not only the photo talent by "the eye", like Mike R and Danger Dave. Go get'em ! Court, Grouse photos (they are SO versatile those Kodak Instamatics) I think if I had to go that way to work every day I probably wouldn't get there quite often !! Chris |

No place is free. . . I live in Kansas for 44 years . . paid "personal property tax" annually. We had to inventory office supplies, papers, pens, desks . . and tools . . yep, we submitted detailed schedules of sockets, hand wrenches and screwdrivers. I also paid, some ridiculous sum I can't recall, on each of my 9 bikes. Now I'm in NYC . . I pay NYC Resident Earnings Tax (lots of folks try to "live" outside the "city" but that doesn't work) and we pay about $500 a month, plus the 18.75% parking tax, for a parking place in the city. More than my kids paid for their gorgeous 3br/3ba with fireplace apt in Lawrence, KS when they went to college. Beautiful . . therefore . . becomes a state of mind . . how YOU see YOUR situation. Every time I ride in this area . . or about any area for that matter. . . I find myself being enthusiastic and thankful. New York City, and state, are absolutely gorgeous. P.S. - the one that always makes me grit my teeth are the Delaware County School Taxes I have to pay every year for the 10 acres I own that I've never set foot on. |
