I am in the Florida Keys and my 06 Uly has a weeping fork seal. Not too bad yet. Called around here with not much luck. Thought I would try one of the South Florida Harley dealers soon. Is there one dealer here that is better to go to? |

I had good luck a few years ago dealing with Petersons in Miami. Didn't do anything Buell with them...but the guys I dealt with all had their heads on straight and weren't BS artists. Quick "fix" attempt for the seal: get something the size and consistency of a piece of old 35mm film (remember that stuff?). Cut it to a point (on an angle, not straight). Slide the tip into the fork seal and slide it the full circumference of the fork, between the tube and the seal. If there's a piece of grit or dirt stuck in the seal causing it to leak this should dislodge it without damaging the seal. Chances are, if you're in the Keys...you sucked up a piece of sand or something similar. Enjoy the Keys. I'm jealous, been too long since I was there! |
