MikeJ, Of course I'll take a M2 on trade. I'll look it over Sat and give you some numbers. Hey, just cause I'm the BattleMaster doesn't mean I can't do what I was born to do(sell bikes) Ride to the edge! Dave |

Daves...You will do well. Just lay out the course and set the stuff up the best you can. Between all the "Technocrats" that will show, any timing equipment issues will be quickly resolved. I don't know why by Reg felt the need to explain to me in detail how to do a tight course in a small lot. Even explained how he modified the layout for safety (read: speed, uneven surfaces, surfaces canted for drainage, manhole covers, run outs, placement of corner workers, etc). I swear that guy has to be a civil engineer! FYI, it took him and two assistants almost three hours to set up and test the final course at Hal's. In comparison, the equipment went up in minutes. So plan your time accordingly. Just tell me when and I will meet you there. |

Bads...Can your friend set him up with a helmet and a ride in the little bus? Last time I played South Hills, the guy that was driving the cart rolled it into the pond...Stone Cold Sober!!! Oh well, at least I bailed out in time and made him get my clubs out of the water. |

Daves...you may want to bring a few trailer loads of bikes with you and set up a "stand" on a corner somewhere nearby. I get the strong feeling that you are doing more business in these parts than the local dealers are. LOL |

I think I will pass on the checked pants. Just wear my usual jeans & maybe flip flops Bomber & Blastin, gotta agree with Bill. Unless you have tried it, dont knock it. Its a lot like B-trax, compete against yourself. I compare golf with bowling & skiing, you dont need to be good to enjoy them, you only compete against yourself & they are all fun. More to life than just repairing Buells Have talked with Shane & he is a good guy. Yep he has had a few "clashes" with the service dept. Talked with Buell Mule..aka Nancy & she also has had some issues & she is a new owner. Wish I knew why they are choosing to be that way..oh well screw em. Time to go to work & practice my putts. Found my 12' putting green Not going to get much accomplished tonight at work. |

Sultry near naked women on a golf course serving beer and booze...Damn, I just may take the sport up again. Many more golf outings than near naked Harley events each year. Wonder if I can get a few concession stands in the thick brush. Bet they would make a lot of cash with that deal. LOL Hmmmm...Also wonder what that would do to my blood pressure. Probably end up with a pacemaker after a few rounds, eh? |

Say somewhere around 8-9? try & kill 3 birds with 1 stone, need to stop at CJ's & get a couple poster tubes, stop & see my daughter & then check out your clubs. |

Dyna...Will check tonight and let you know via email. Don't want to lend the good ones. Have a couple of sets that sold for around $2,000 a couple years ago that are in perfect condition (heck some sets were never used) and I don't want them messed up. Kills the resale value if you get my drift. Also have a ladies pro line set that could use new grips (grips cost $1 to $5 each installed and are usually done overnight). They were my Mom's and she checked out in 1974. Later Dude...Gotta go do an inventory! |

Oh Yeah, I forgot...Also have a pair of leather golf sandals in size 12. Never used, but my dad thought they were neat. If it were not for the back strap you could tease CJ and tell her they were flip flops. |

I guess this means I have to actually wash my bike. Bummer. Maybe I'll bungie a putter and a sleeve of golf balls to the rack at the same time. And Dyna, remember, some people get really annoyed when you play each hole in an adjacent fairway. |

I was a caddy in high school for a swanky country club, like $8,000-10,000 a year in membership dues swanky. I have tried it, it ain't for me. Golf is just about the only "ball" sport I can think of where you hit the ball and then you have to go find the darn thing yourself. Every other sport you have the ball and everybody else wants it. Besides golf courses to me are a waste of good water and an over application of pesticides. About the only good thing they do in my opinion is keep a lot of green space around that won't get developed in the near future. That and it can be way expensive. Just my opinion, but if it is what floats your boat, then swing away. (I do like to occasionaly, like maybe once every other year, go to the driving range) Mini-golf on the other hand, now there's an activity that takes some skill. And it can humble even the best of golfers. Anybody want to finance my putt-putt course that I've had in my head for years now? What was the topic again? Oh yeah, I think somebody should loan Bill a Blast so he can compete in Battletrax.(Mostly because if he wears shorts again to show off his alabaster white legs again, I'm not sure I'll be able to see the course if it is a very sunny day. |

Your in luck Jerry. No Blast and no shorts. Damn, I didn't know my legs were that bad. LOL Concerning Golf, I really liked George Carlin's skit about converting them to house the homeless. He made a strong point about the waste of land and need for housing with his usual wit. Do have to agree with you about miniature golf. As hokey as it is, I really like it as it is a real skill test and not that time consuming. A few years back a developer did something neat and built a real grass 18 hole putting course in a parking lot of a major office complex in Orange County, CA. The course featured replicas the toughest greens on the circuit. I found that to be very entertaining and was a great way to get out with your clients for a quick round, conduct some biz and not be missed back at the office. Oh well, see you Saturday. Just got the X1 back from Hal's and have some really great stories to tell. Am posting some of them on the Brew City thread. |

Hi guys, What is all this talk about golfing on a motorcycle board???? Just kidding. Anyway wanted to drop a line and say that Jerry will have some competition. No I did not get a Blast, a friend said he will show up with his Blast and compete. He even bought some motorcycle boots. Looking forward to the B-trax this Saturday, hope there is a good turn out, I'm bringing a couple guys and maybe a lady with who might give it a go. I'm leaving Mars Cheese Castle in Kenosha at 9:15am to head up to B-trax. If you want to ride up with, show up ahead of time. Hey Bill, you called me an "outrider". I'm showing my lack of knowledge here, is that someone who does not belong to any group or club? I finally put on my spare set of wheels and am breaking in a new set of AVON street/track tires. I'm not sure if they will be of any advantage on a B-trax course but I'll give them a try. See you all Saturday. |

Shane, Check the heat rating on those tires to see if they need to be warmed up a bit for proper bite. An indirect relative has a Triumph sportbike that had some track/street tires and when he rode his bike in the winter during a household move the tires had very little adhesion until they managed to warm up. It'd be nice if I can beat your times, but not if you crash. What'd your new wheels cost you, if you don't mind my asking? I'm trying to get a few people from work here to show up on their Harleys and such. We'll see. ===== Daves, would you happen to have a postable or emailable pic of that '83? edited by mikej on September 17, 2003 |
