Why is there a loss of power when I go WOT. If I open it all the way and then back off a quarter turn, the power kicks. What up with that? Can I fix it? Thanks |

you need to denoid, there is a solenoid that restricts the throttle so the bike could pass epa regs. |

Is this correct? I thought the solenoid only kicked in under certain circumstances and when it does you know about it. Most of the time it has no effect or does it? Stu |

The denoid will have no effect on WOT. It's a tuning issue. It's just like having too lean of a main jet on a carb. At WOT it's not happy, almopst WOT it can handle the amount of air. Mine did that too, with the stock ECM. |

The noid will only have an effect at WOT but it will only do it in 3rd gear. |

Unless it is not adjusted properly. Since the throttle is not solidly linked to the butterflies he might be getting a some drag from the noid. Personally i noticed an improvement in every gear and especially a big difference in throttle response when i de-noided it. |

I found the throttle felt a little stiff at WOT ,I pulled the air filter and at WOT the throttle plates were not opening all the way, the throttle side linkage was rubbing on the rubber vent hose that sticks up and into the housing on that side. I just had to refit the hose by pulling it up into the airbox a little further. |

This may be a ridiculous question but, what do you mean when you say de-noid? Sorry, but your dealing with a novice here. Or, maybe even worst. I am learning as I go... |

The noid will only have an effect at WOT but it will only do it in 3rd gear. Ratsmc, before my de-noid, I was able to trigger the "kill switch" in other gears. Same RPM range still holds true (4700-5000 approximately). I think it easiest to get it to kick in when in 3rd gear, but it is possible in other gears as well. Not that it matters any, but just throwing it out there as a bit of information from personal experience. |

The ECU also seems to have a reduced rev limit until the engine is warmed up. I have noticed this a couple of times now when I have cracked the throttle before the "Engine Cold" notification disappears. It seems to kill the injectors at around 6-7k rpm until you get it up to operating temp. |

why would you rev it up before the ct cold goes away? that is really hard on the engine. |

I didn't say I advocate it. It is just something I had noticed that might help in the troubleshooting process. What if he has a malfunctioning temp sensor? I don't recall anyone mentioning a cold engine rev limit on the forum before and you don't have to go WOT to trigger it. Besides he didn't say the symptom was consistent and he DID say "novice". |

Yeah, I have noticed that as well but figured it had to do with the ECM not allowing the engine to overwork itself while it is still cold. |
