Can anyone help me out with a number or copy of the service bulletin for the coolant leak from the water pump witness hole, my dealer says it is not a known problem even though I have given them the upgrade kit part number, R1022.1AM I have had the harness upgrade and had the clutch leak and they fixed that OK but I had to pay for the Cali can upgrade, wife was not going to accept the smell of fuel from the garage so for a peaceful life I paid for that myself but I don't see why I should pay to fix a coolant leak on a bike that is three months old with less than 3,000 miles on the clock. I'm over in the UK so not many options on taking the bike to another dealership. Any help most welcome. Cheers Steve. |

Hi mate, i'm in the UK too, dont think it's an actual service bulletin ! I could be wrong but it's just a updated part not a recall as such. |

Your dealer is wrong - it is a known problem (even in the UK). Assuming your bike is actually leaking then they have to fix it under warranty - were you hoping to do it pre-emptively or do you have a leak already? |

Thanks for the replies Avalaugh and Jules, this would explain why the service guy could not find anything, it is actually leaking, noticed it when they fixed the clutch leak, I had taken off the lower fairings as a courtesy to the tech guys, pure coincidence that it makes it easier to remove the Erik Buell Racing ecm and reinstall the original before taking the bike in, honest, and saw it when they brought the bike to the front of the shop for me to collect. This does raise the question, how do dealers know there is an updated part when a customer brings in a bike with a problem, something on HDnet? Cheers Steve. |

Stimbrell, whereabouts in the UK are you ? If you're not too far away, give Black Bear in Newmarket a call - they seem to be the most Buell friendly dealer in the UK. If you're "up north" then you could try Manchester HD - good things have been said about them too. |

Cheltenham HD are OK too - you get a bit of banter when you're there but once they realise you know what you're talking about they're pretty cool.. |

Many thanks for the information, will explain this to the service guy and see how it goes, I am in South Devon but if I get no joy I will try one of the recommended dealers Cheers Steve. |

Manchester HD fitted the kit to my '08 under Warranty. I think they've experienced a new type of failure with the updated clutch slave too. There was a recent thread on UKBEG about it. |
