Go to one of those mega-huge hunting stores and look through their Gortex hunting and work boots. I guarantee they will have a protective boot with a good sole that is waterproof and good for all day walking. I have a pair of steel toe leather hiking boots with a Gortex liner for summer commuting and riding but use a 10 inch insulated hardened Cordura/Gortex hunting boot for touring. Check out Rocky boots or Cabelas. |

Haven't seen them mentioned, so... Oxtar Matrix boots are the best. --Doc |

I'm with Doc. Oxtar makes boots for BMW etc. Made in Italy, priced right and never leak. I don't carry any rain booties or covers and I'm always dry. Had mine for 7 years now, still work great. |

Thor 50/50s for summer: great venting and comfortable with plenty protection. Alpinestars Ridge for Winter: Waterproof, breathable and with a good pair of socks good down to 28 degrees. |

Another vote for the Oxtar Matrix. I've had mine about 5 years, commute every day with them and they have never leaked, riding in Temps from 15 - 100 and all weather conditions. |

Have the Oxtar/TCX Infinity's not a fan they are too high and the tops of the boots don't open enough for pants but are too wide to pull th the pants over with out stressing and straining. Had Sidi Stradas, They weren't bad but didn't go too well with business casual. I have the Combat Lites and like them and to switch it up I ordered a pair of these: http://www.motostrano.com/oiledboot.html |

I have a pair of Oxtar Matrix boots for about 5-7 years, and like them a lot. In `07 I took a trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway, and one day it rained hard all day. My feet got wet. How wet? Well, I put them on the HVAC, with just the fan on, and they dried in about an hour and a half. Never been wet any other times, though. They are great, comfortable, and I payed about $170. I wear them every time I ride. |

I just got a pair of JR Sonic boots from MSS. First day wearing them. Need to break them in because I can't feel the shifter! I also need to find some stylin' 70's era tall tube socks. I'll see if I can find some with barricade orange stripes... |
