Finally I got a chance to run three ECMs maps back to back on my 08 1125R running a Torquehammer exhaust. First a BUE242 Erik Buell Racing race ECM modified to put the engine braking back. Then a recently purchased BUE231 Erik Buell Racing Race ECM. Then a Twin Motorcycles ECM (BUE242) matched to the Torquehammer exhaust. The best one? The BUE231 ECM. Best low speed smoothness and a really strong pull when opening the throttle, but not much engine braking. The worst low speed control was the TM ECM which also has CR gearing settings and a fast idle, however it pulls well on open throttle. The 242 was the 'softest' in feel but great fueling. So there you have it. In the next few months I will run all three on a Dyno........during the same day as well as with a std exhaust on the same bike. Results may be interesting. Are bue242 and bue231 both pump gas ecm's? The only difference between the 242 and 231 is that one has engine braking and one doesn't? |

Both pump gas. There are a number of differences in the settings. I bought my 242 in March and my brother ordered a race ecm and his turned up as a 231. I found this interesting as he said he had a std ex and I specified an after market exhaust. So it seems E_B_R send out different ones to match std or modified exhausts or......? That sounds cool, thanks for the good info! So the 231 is spec'd for the stock exhaust? It would be nice to hear from Anony on this... I want an Erik Buell Racing ECM and would like to be able to switch between my aftermarket exhaust and stock from time to time. |

Hi Easy I am experimenting with my E_B_R ecm and my brother's one but as our handshake I have not touched yours. If you remember I exchanged my standard original ECM for your one so I only have a Torquehammer ECM and eeprom. Are you saying that you now have an update?? If so can I call in sometime for a re-burn?? |

Boogman, was thinking of getting the Free Spirits full exhaust or slip on. How do you like it and where did you get the map? Thanks |

The entire package came from http://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/ and the maps are produced by .. www.fuelsolutions.nl The primary reason i wanted the freespirits is purely looks ... the sound clips on the web dont do exhaust audio any justice .. anything is better then the stock sound ... however its a challenge to better the performance as the stock set up is quite good as we know .. Thanks to Dris for providing the custom map for the setup .. ( theres a couple of things that I am needing correction on the ECM ) but im sure that Dris and co will sort it out Cheers Brett |

Yeah Dave and Dris arranged for a session to update the ECM .. all seems ok .. however cant ride too much as I have a problem with my knee .. So Sidestand error is gone .. and seems to be ok from the fueling perspective however only rode around the block... Thanks again to fuelsolutions to the service they offered .. Will post up again when ive tested properly .. |

Boogman, How is your FS FE working out? Now that the exhaust shootout is complete I'm ready to pull the trigger on a new exhaust. My choices are the Free Spirits Full (not tested) and the Keda RT4 (Not tested) and the Barker. Even though the FS wasn't tested I still like it's looks and what I've heard of the sound. Dean and chance you'll design a Full Exhaust along the lines of the RT-4? |
