ok just curious on how accurate is the instant mpg on a r model. The reason I ask is I went a on charity run today and was riding and playing around in full tuck and moving around on the bike and was averaging around 40 to 45 sitting up but in full tuck I did see 61(best). I only weigh 140 in full gear and can tuck behind the fairing completely. So is the instant mpg close or is just there to have something on the dash? |

Not sure, never use that one. The average mpg read out is pretty accurate compared against the old fashioned way. |

The instant is pretty much spot on. Depending on your riding, the average can easily be low depending on your riding. My average is about 4mpg lower than actual. |

Thanks I was just trying to see what the highest I could maintain and still be comfortable. I have to admit I had my cruise control on and probably looked funny from the cars approaching because the guys in front of me said all they could see was my bike and they lost site of me in full tuck. |

I got a whole tank of gas to average 48 MPG in Sturgis and the area. Riding with Air Head Harleys..... |
