How can your bike be a month and a half old, the factory closed last year? |

Good point. So are you saying the battery might need to be replaced since the build date on the frame is October 08. Does that mean my battery is a year and a half old as well??? Ofcourse unless the dealer put a new one in. (yeah right). |

Could be battery, could be the stator being damaged during the period before the harness was installed. |

Monitor the RPM and voltage. For my bike (with a lowered RPM) I get the battery light as I am idling for more than, say 30seconds, when the voltage drops below 12.2-12.3. Once underway again the light goes out I have no idea if this is a problem! With the OEM ECM and idle RPM set at 1400- 1500rpm I do not get a battery light or voltage drop |

Had the same problem. Blossomed into the bike not starting. It turned out to be a bad battery AND voltage rectifier (due to the battery being bad for an extended period of time). All parts should be under warranty but the battery needs to "test" bad on their machine or whatever magic they use. Good luck!! |

I had the same condition and it was a loose battery bolt. Especially on the 08's you need to check where the cables attach to the battery as well as where they attach to the frame and starter relay under the seat. At one time there was an issue with the nut holding the positive battery cable to the starter relay. |
