I did see the other thread for the '10 wheel kit, but I understand that the wheels on the X and the XT aren't the same (the ones on the X are a little heavier). Anyhoo I've got a 2008 XT with the black wheels and I'd like to do a rear wheel/bearings upgrade. Anyone know the part # to the kit for the XT? Much Thanks. |

Froggy - is there a black 3 bearing rear wheel kit for the XT, like there is for the X? |

Well damn. After talking to a parts guy at the Hardley shop, they found that the kit is obsolete. But they had a 2010 parts catalog and can order the individual parts I need. Is all I need just bearings (3), dust seals (2), axle spacer, bearing seal/spacer, and of course the wheel? He told me the axle is the same for '08 and '10. Yeah, I looked at the part numbers in another thread for bearing/wheel upgrades, and also at my '08 parts catalog. You're right, looks like '08 and '10 axles ain't the same. He must have gotten confused (typical for many Harley guys looking up Buell parts) Here's my list: Bearings (3) - E0005.5AK Axle - G0321.5AK Axle Spacer - G0323.5AK Wheel (Villian Black) - not sure yet Dust Seals (2) - EA0002.5AK Spacer/Seal - G0323.5AK Sprocket Bolts (6) - AA0609.11CXZB Rotor Bolts (6) - CA0005.9A7 |

Well, I still have about 5 months of warranty. have about 12k on bike. If the wheel/bearings are gonna fail I hope it's by then. I have an 09 manfac. Aug. 08. Looks like it has the black seals.... 400+ for a new wheel combo is what I like to call major BULL%#^* An honorable company would have these - should be free - upgrades at very low prices. Live with your private hell you HD suits. |

Cool. 7AAYT better still be good. I know Hardley said they'd provide parts for 7 years but I don't trust them. H-D has already shown their true colors (and I don't mean black & orange) |

Always a one of you in the bunch. Anyway, first off its $336. Secondly, Buell did provide the fix! Please ask the Kawasaki KLR650 owners who for over 20 years were dealing with a junk cam chain tensioner that was never fixed or even acknowledged by the factory. Also, if your bearings fail during the warranty period, there is a good chance you can get the new wheel, get this, FOR FREE!! |

Is it $336 for the whole deal? Wheel, axle, spacer, bearings etc? I would have thought at 285-315 a wheel the rest would be more than that. I have a KLR650. Know ALL about the cam-tensioner, (doohicky). They still haven't fixed it. Even the 08+ one's have the same issue. Two wrongs don't make a right, just because one wrong isn't "as bad" doesn't make it okay. Free, that's why I'm hoping if it does fail, It does so under warranty. Question: Does/did HD/Buell give out free seals to those who had bad ones, even if their bike is out of warranty? Seems like the seals should be a recall matter and should be free to anyone with the older ones prone to failure. Guess I'm just on a Been dealing with a lot of iffy stuff lately, sorry. Dragon - Hey in any case way cool on your wheel! The piece of mind is priceless when on the road! |
