I was just there yesterday. I'll probably go back tomorrow or Tuesday...definitely Wednesday to pick up a rental car for the trip to south Florida I have to take this week and next for work. I live 17 miles from the track and have missed nearly every single bike week for the past decade because of work conflicts. Thankfully, as bike week continues to become bike month, I feel like I tend to miss less and less stuff (except the vintage swap meets in Deland, where I live, I like those a lot and so does my '76 Bonnie). |

This may or may not help... For visitors to the area, Rossmeyer used to be the 'home' of Triumph, Ducati, etc. (and Buell). No more. Rossmeyer will still touch your Buell for service but the BMW dealer now carries *most* Euro brands in the area. Rossmeyer sold the Euros off and put in another T-shirt outlet in the Triumph, et al dealer spaces. Just what Daytona needs...another T-shirt shop. I think I recall that there is a Guzzi dealer on the same exit as Rossmeyer, headed south on U.S. 1 on the other side of the interstate from the "Destination Daytona Megaplex". Rossmeyer is just HD and HD-like 'customs' now. J & P Cycle is still there along side them in their huge-ish store front. The Helmet Shop on Ballough Road (just north of the BMW dealer down on the intracoastal) is marking a ton of stuff down in prep for bike week, if you need an interesting place to open your wallet. I have an aging Darien jacket that I had been contemplating replacing and was curious to try a new Tourmaster Transition 2 jacket just to see...walked in over the weekend and found them on sale from $190 to $150. Cheapest I ever found on-line was $170 with S/H making it about $190. At $150 and no S/H, I figured I'd try it out to see. So far, so good but the long haul awaits. They had a bunch of other stuff marked down as well. They also do a lot of helmet communications work and installation and have a fairly wide line of makes and models if a new lid is in your future (or a comm system might be). Its a good place to try something on that you might otherwise only ever see in a catalog. (Message edited by 7873jake on February 22, 2010) |

Off work the 3rd and 4th, we will be over those days, probably with the XT and the CityX, may ride my K75, or maybe the Blast, or even the Thruxton. Going to the track, downtown for the IMS, and out to ormond to people watch. I believe aprilia is doing test rides again this year. Worth the $$ for the 1.5 hr experience, just be there early to sign up cuz they fill up fast. |

Paintshaker, I'll be camping at the track, mind if I stop by and say hello? I can never seem to time it right to meet you over here at JenningsGP, and my daughter would love to check out a race bike! |

Never been to bike week. I am thinking about it. It is probably highly unlikely but, I would love to go. I do think I need to go on a trip again. I'd prob leave wed and get to some hotel for thurday night, see the races friday and then leave sat or sun. Might be cool to see the opening AMA races ...then also see the last of the season back in Millville again in sept. If you were going...which way would you choose? I-95 S: 951 miles - 15 hours 11 mins. I-95 to I-77 S then I-95 S: 1,044 miles - 16 hours 18 mins. |

Just got to Port Orange about 3 hours ago, it's raining right now. I'll be corner worker all 8 days of racing starting Friday the 26th. with the CCS races and Hammer School. Will be looking for the Bad Web camping area after work. |

Mark got us hooked up to help with the corners also, but our time limitations seem to have way-laid that program. We will be the guys in the middle camping area just far enough away from the restroom building in the center of turn 3-4 with the Buells parked around. There was so much to do last year, we didn't get back to the tents until lights out time. |

Ken, we have a thread going on the Quick Board , 'Daytona 200'. Our trip in will be down I95. With our limited time it looks like that will be the return route also. We are still working on making it happen! |

Been riding on snow and ice all winter, sure don't want to chance that through Atlanta, or on any Interstate for that matter. I don't even care that it is supposed to rain most of the way, been there, done that. My constraints are business related right now, time away is not the issue, certain criteria that is out of my hands at the moment, have to be met or I need to stay until it does. You know.....hurry up and wait! If these particular I's were dotted, and T's were crossed, I would leave today. |

I was over for just the opening day, only day I could manage. I was disappointed to see that Rossmeyers has closed the Ducati/Triumph shop. It is now a HD motorclothes outlet. For a heads up though, they do have a few Buell shirts and hats and a jacket or two. I picked up four shirts. |
